Abstract

Nonwoven material comprises a mixture of fibers of pineapple and polyolefin, in a ratio of 80:20 to 20:80. The pineapple fibers have a thickness of 5-30 dtex, and the polyolefin fibers have a gauge of 1.7-20.0 dtex. The fibers have a mean length of 5-200 mm, to give a fabric weight of 200-4000 g/m2>.

Naturfaser-Mischvliese sind seit längerem bekannt, z. B. aus DE-C 36 14 533, EP-A 933 191 und EP-A 1 055 759. Sie werden vor allem zur Herstellung von Automobil-Innenteilen verwendet. Als Naturfasern werden dabei vor allem solche auf Basis von Flachs, Hanf, Jute, Sisal, Kenaf und Abaca eingesetzt. Derartige Naturfasern weisen verschiedene Nachteile auf; in einigen Fällen lässt die Zugfestigkeit zu wünschen übrig, manche Fasern sind zu brüchig, so dass die Vliese schwierig zu verarbeiten sind und oft haben die Naturfasern einen unangenehmen Geruch.
