Abstract

The file comprises a water repellent bottom part (1) and a water repellent lid portion (3) hinged to a rigid spine (2). The bottom part carries a sheet holding mechanism, parallel to the spine, retaining perforated sheets. On the spine is secured a flexible, soft, water-tight and not-absorbing carrying member (7), in which is integrated a flexible, soft shoulder pad (8). The three open sides and edges of the bottom and lid parts are covered with soft, water-tight fabric (4).

Folder, especially for transporting documents

The present invention relates to a rigid, stiff, water-repellent folder with a base part and a cover part that is connected in an articulated or foldable manner via a rigid spine, which allows the storage and transport of detachably or temporarily held together sheets of paper or other freely movable volumes and/or documents - for example for school, work and/or for sales purposes.

Transport is made possible by means of a flexible, soft and appropriately long carrying device, which is firmly or loosely connected to the back of the folder. The documents stored in the folder are protected by a device for closing the folder.

Such documents are usually stored in well-known folders or binders, available in numerous variants, which are placed in other suitable containers - such as bags or suitcases - for transport purposes or to protect the documents. These folders have neither a carrying device nor is protection from moisture guaranteed when transporting the documents.

Also known are rigid or stiff folders or document and presentation folders in which one of the sections is provided with a rigid, inflexible carrying handle that cannot be retracted and requires additional space (G 86 02 124.6 and design patent: pattern register M 88 01 439.8). These folders do not have a device that protects the material all around against undesirable weather-related influences.

Also known are organizational folders which have a rigid carrying handle on one of the sections that cannot be retracted and are equipped with numerous holding elements inside, including a filing mechanism (G 88 08 021.8). Folders of this type are primarily intended for organizational purposes for certain target groups and professional groups. They are not equipped with a long and flexible carrying strap, and the base and cover sections are not torsion-resistant.

Cases are known which are used in particular for the storage and presentation of files (G 87 02 933.2), but which are not intended for transport purposes.

The invention is based on the problem of transporting files, sheets and documents of various kinds - such as sheet music, brochures, training and sales documents or other documents - out of the home in a crease-free, dry and protected manner.

Often, pockets are not large enough to accommodate conventional folders. This means that files are transported loosely, with the result that paper documents do not remain clean and smooth.

The task is solved by combining a folder, file and bag in one transport container, which is closed on all four sides, so that the additional task of transporting documents that are not temporarily held firmly in the folder by the filing mechanism is also fulfilled.

The folder can be used for teaching purposes, presentations and courses; participants can carry it along with other items using the strap that hangs over the shoulder, which allows hands-free use. If the container is only partially filled with documents, a laptop can also be transported in it.

A further problem solved by the invention is to put the carrying device on in such a way that no additional space is required for a bulky, rigid handle. The soft, flexible strap of an appropriate length allows the carrying device to be completely retracted.

The invention according to claims 1 to 5 achieves the advance that filed or non-filed documents can be transported in a dry, crease-free, energy-saving and fatigue-reducing manner without having to resort to an additional transport container.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the carrying device is provided with a strap made of a flexible, soft material that cushions the shoulder area and can be moved along the entire length of the carrying strap in the direction of travel. The carrying device is firmly connected to the back of the folder, parallel to each other at the top and bottom edges.

In a further version, the carrying device is also provided with a movable flap made of flexible material that is padded in the shoulder area, but is not attached to the folder as a whole, but is attached to itself with two interlocking connecting elements at both ends within the folder, so that this carrying device can be used alternately on different folders. The two ends of the carrying device are pushed through under the soft, flexible material covering the three sides and locked into one another using the connecting elements.

A further embodiment according to claim 2 allows the carrying device to be attached parallel to each other using fastening elements at the top and bottom ends of the back part of the folder. Both the folder and the carrying device have a fastening element. This is the comparatively more cost-effective version that allows a carrying device to be attached to different folders.

Figure 1 shows the folder with base (1), spine (2) and cover (3). The flexible, soft fabric (4) with closing mechanism (5) closes the folder on three open sides and is attached flush to three edges of the base (1) and cover (3).

When using a standardized folder, the usual cutouts (6) through which the filing mechanism protrudes are marked. The carrying device (7) with shoulder pad (8) is firmly attached to the back section.

Figure 2 shows the non-permanent fastening of the carrying device by means of fastening element (9) on the folder and fastening element (10) on the carrying device.

Figure 3 shows the inside of the base part (11) with a filing mechanism (12) mounted parallel to the back part, as well as the inside of the cover part (14) which is hingedly connected to it via a back part (13) with a flexibly adjustable holding element (15) for holding organizational utensils - such as writing utensils, calculators, mobile phones and the like.

Claims (5)

1. Folder, in particular for transporting files, sheets of paper, documents of various kinds - such as sheet music, brochures, training and sales documents and/or other documents - with a water-repellent base part ( 1 ) and a water-repellent cover part ( 3 ) which is connected in an articulated or foldable manner via a rigid spine ( 2 ), provided with a filing mechanism ( 12 ) attached to the inside of the base part ( 1 ) and running parallel to the spine part for receiving correspondingly punched documents, characterized by a flexible, soft, waterproof, non-absorbent carrying device ( 7 ) which is attached to the spine ( 2 ) of the folder. 2. Folder according to claim 1, characterized in that a flexible, soft, waterproof, non-absorbent carrying device is provided, which can be fastened to the upper and lower edges of the back part by means of fastening elements ( 9 , 10 ). 3. Folder according to claim 1 and/or 2, characterized in that a flexible, soft, non-absorbent shoulder pad ( 8 ) is integrated into the flexible, soft carrying device ( 7 ). 4. Folder according to claim 1 and/or 2 and 3, characterized in that the three open sides are covered by a flexible, soft, waterproof, non-absorbent fabric ( 4 ) flush with the edges of the base and cover parts, which can be opened and closed by a quick fastener ( 5 ) - such as a zipper, Velcro, snap fastener or the like - which runs parallel to the three sides. 5. Folder according to claim 1 and/or 2 and 3 to 4, characterized in that a folder, combined from a rigid, torsion-resistant folder and a soft, flexible fabric is combined to form a transport container which contains a flexibly adjustable receiving element ( 15 ) for receiving organizational utensils - such as writing utensils, pocket calculator and mobile phone - on at least one inner side of the base ( 11 ), back ( 13 ) or cover part ( 14 ).
