The usual type of curtain rods used to attach window curtains are made of metal and have a plastic cap with a hole at each end for hanging things. The hooks used for this are attached either with screws or with adhesive hooks, which in practice have proven to be unreliable as they fall off again after a short time. These adhesive hooks cannot be re-glued as the adhesive strength is lost and they must be replaced with a new one. Furthermore, with both of these options there is an increased risk of injury due to the protruding sharp parts during use and when cleaning the window, particularly with incorrectly attached hooks, but also when attaching/removing the hooks as they have a tendency to break off if overtightened or due to corrosion. Furthermore, if the reveal is too narrow, the window cannot be opened fully, as the hooks then hit the wall by around 1-2 cm (very extreme with wooden rods, as even deeper (2-3 cm) supports are required) and thus a.) bend and b.) damage the wall by being pushed in. An angle hook for screwing can also only rarely be screwed into the glazing bead directly onto the pane, as the glazing bead is not deep enough and screwing in the angle hook is simply not possible due to the required radius of the 90° angle of the hook. There are also clamping rods with spikes on the ends, which also damage the glazing bead. In addition, there is a considerable risk of injury with these clamping rods due to the spike inherent in their design.

Advantages:

The invention provides a solution that makes it possible to attach curtain rods without damaging the window frame. The risk of injury is also minimized as there are no protruding or sharp parts. If steel strips are used, the curtain rod can also be attached at an angle to the base edge of the window. The window curtain can be positioned as often as desired by simply sliding the ends of the curtain rod up and down. This option also completely eliminates the need for the support that is otherwise used to hold the curtain rod and that protrudes from the window, which poses a considerable risk of injury. This also means that a spring is not necessarily required to push the two rods apart, as the force of the magnet is sufficient to "automatically" pull the curtain rod apart and hold it in place.

The extendable glass rod with magnetic ends consists essentially of two conventional profiles (1) + (2) (round, oval, square) that can be pushed into one another. A permanent magnet (3) is inserted into the rod at each of the outer ends. This magnet adheres to a ferromagnetic support surface. The ferromagnetic support surface is created by applying a small metal plate (4) (e.g. screwing in a flat-head screw, gluing a metal plate or steel strip - for more flexibility -) to the inside of the glass support bar (5) using a suitable method.

Extendable glass rod with magnetic ends, characterized in that two hollow profiles ( 1 ) + ( 2 ) of different sizes, namely so that they can be pushed into one another, and at each end of which a permanent magnet ( 3 ) is inserted, which finds its receiving surface on a ferromagnetic metal plate ( 4 ). The receiving surface is created by applying a small metal plate ( 4 ) to the window frame/glass retaining strip inside ( 5 ) using a suitable method.
