Steigen der eingangs genannten Art und deren Zuschnitte sind seit langem bekannt und werden beispielsweise für den Transport und die Lagerung von Obst und Gemüse verwendet. Dabei stehen die Seitenwände im aufgerichteten Zustand senkrecht zur Bodenfläshe und zur Sicherung gegen seitliches Verrutschen sind Stapelnasen vorgesehen, cie die jeweils darüber befindliche Steige sichern. Durch die Trapezform der Seitenfelder ergibt sich im aufgerichteten Zustand gewissermaßen eine konische Form der Steige, die eine problemlose Stapelbarkeit der Steige auch bei kleinen Höhen ermöglicht, indem die folgende Steige auf die Stützeinrichtung der darunterliegenden Steige gestellt wird. Dabei weist der Zuschnitt einen wesentlich geringeren Materialverbrauch gegenüber dem Stand der Technik auf.
