Socks, especially trekking socks

The invention relates to a sock, in particular a trekking sock.

In practice, hiking socks are known that have padding in various places in the ankle and metatarsal area and that also have a soft sole area. Such socks are not yet ideally suited to the higher loads that occur when hiking or trekking.

The object of the present invention is to provide a better sock that can withstand the special stresses of hiking or trekking.

The invention solves this problem with the features in the main claim.

The stressed sock, especially the trekking sock, has the advantage that it provides optimal support for the foot in the ankle area via the ankle bandage and also provides sufficient support for the special stresses of hiking and trekking. The swing heel and the inner shoe padding create a soft and breathable running surface for the foot. The ribbed insert in the midfoot area offers additional protection against pressure loads from the shoe in this area, which occur particularly when running on terrain and when the shoe sole rolls over. With this design, the stressed sock is optimally equipped for use when hiking or trekking.

The ankle brace, with an extension above the heel, supports the area around the Achilles tendon and also protects it against stress from

from impacts or blows. A similar extension in the sole area of the foot provides support and protection for the tendons there. A pique knit with knitted-in elastic rubber or polyurethane threads is particularly advantageous for the ankle bandage. This design is breathable across the entire area and provides the desired support while adapting optimally to the foot, avoiding constrictions. The heel area is left out so that a comfort-oriented design, e.g. a breathable and soft terry knit, can be used here. The inner shoe padding preferably extends to the toe area and encloses the toes softly and protectively. The toes are additionally protected by a fine seam. This comfort area fits tightly to the rib insert in the metatarsal area so that its protective function can be used specifically.

The sock (1) is preferably designed as a trekking sock and is particularly suitable for higher and longer-term loads when hiking, trekking or the like.

The sock (1) consists of a shaft (2) and a foot part (3). It has a basic knit made of climate-regulating yarns, which ensures comprehensive ventilation and dehumidification of the foot in the entire sock area. The basic knit is preferably made of a cotton blend or a polyester/Coolmax blend.

The sock (1) has a swing heel (4) with a surrounding cross-ankle bandage (7). The cross-ankle bandage (7) is cut out at the heel (4) and has an extension (11) that extends above the heel (4) and along the Achilles tendon. In the sole area, an extension (12) also adjoins the heel (4). Both extensions (11,12) taper towards their outer end.

In the side view, the ankle bandage (7) has a Y-shape and encloses the ankle tightly and firmly over a wide area. It also extends over the forefoot area. The ankle is thus clamped and held in a ring shape, with the extensions (11,12) providing support in the upper and lower foot area and protecting and additionally holding the Achilles and metatarsal tendons there.

knitted in. This combines the support function and the climate-regulating function.

In the foot part (3), the sock (1) has an inner shoe padding (8) on the underside, which extends forwards to the toe area (5) and encloses the toes all around. To form the toe, the sock (in the toe area (5) has a finely sewn seam (10). The inner shoe padding (8) and the toe area (5), which is also padded, are made of a soft knit, preferably a terry cloth knit.

On the top of the midfoot there is a ribbed insert (9) that extends over the instep. The inner shoe padding (8) is cut out accordingly and fits tightly to the ribbed insert (9) on the bottom and front. The ribbed insert (9) is formed from a ribbed knit of the base knit and offers cushioning properties. The inner shoe padding (8) fits tightly to the extension (12) in the sole area at the rear end. The base knit is located between the ribbed insert (3) and the ankle bandage (7).

The pendulum heel (4) is also made of a soft and comfortable material, preferably terry cloth. Climate-regulating yarns are also used in these various terry cloth areas.

The shaft (2) has a widened waistband (6) at the upper end, which fits softly and without creases around the lower leg. The waistband (6) can be made of a special knit or alternatively of the basic knit and has ribbing.

Claims (14)

Sock, in particular trekking sock, consisting of a shaft ( 2 ) and a foot part ( 3 ), wherein the sock ( 1 ) has a swinging heel ( 4 ) with a surrounding cross-ankle bandage ( 7 ) and in the foot part ( 3 ) on the underside an inner shoe padding ( 8 ) and on the upper side in the metatarsal area a ribbed insert ( 9 ). 2. Sock according to claim 1, characterized in that the ankle bandage ( 7 ) is recessed at the heel ( 4 ) and has an extension ( 11 ) along the Achilles tendon. 3. Sock according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the ankle bandage ( 7 ) has an extension ( 12 ) along the sole of the foot. 4. Sock according to claim 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that the inner shoe padding ( 8 ) is directly connected to the cross-ankle bandage ( 7 ). 5. Sock according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the inner shoe padding ( 8 ) extends into the toe area ( 5 ) and encloses the toe area ( 5 ). 6. Sock according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the inner shoe padding ( 8 ) surrounds the ribbed insert ( 9 ) on the bottom and front in a tight connection. 7. Sock according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the sock ( 1 ) is finely sewn ( 10 ) in the toe area ( 5 ). 8. Sock according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the sock ( 1 ) has a base knit made of climate-regulating yarns. 9. Sock according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the base knit consists of a cotton blend or a polyester/Coolmax blend. 10. Sock according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cross-ankle bandage ( 7 ) has elastic rubber or polyurethane threads knitted into the base knit. 12. Sock according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the inner shoe padding ( 8 ) and the toe area ( 5 ) comprise a terry cloth knit. 13.
