Abstract

Strip brush

The invention relates to a strip brush with a strip-shaped bristle body made of a flexible material with a bristle trim.

Strip brushes have been around for a long time and are available on the market in various designs. They are used to seal passages, doors and gates against dust, drafts, water, etc. and are also used to transport, guide and slow down sensitive objects.

There are designs with a metal bristle body that clamps the bristles together. Strip brushes are also known in which the bristle body consists of a solid plastic profile into which the bristles are punched. With a dense bristle population, this leads to a very complex manufacturing process. In addition, the solid design makes the bristle body relatively stiff.

The invention is based on the object of creating a strip brush with a strip-shaped bristle body made of a flexible material, which is less complex to manufacture.

This object is achieved according to the invention with a strip brush of the type mentioned at the outset in that the bristle body has a groove for receiving the bristle trim, with at least one resilient tongue being arranged within the groove for clamping the bristles. The bristle trim can be pushed very easily into the groove and held in place by the at least one resilient tongue. The manufacture of the brush according to the invention is therefore less complex than with brushes according to the prior art.

Advantageously, the at least one resilient tongue can be formed in one piece with the bristle body, which leads to further simplifications in terms of manufacturing technology. Further advantages can be achieved if two resilient tongues are arranged in the groove, which clamp the bristles between them. This results in symmetrical conditions in the clamping connection of the bristle trim and the bristle body.

The bristles can be conveniently wrapped around a rod, wire or cord and inserted into the groove together with this or that. The rod, wire or cord not only makes it easier to insert the bristles into the groove, but also ensures that the bristle trim is held securely when it is pushed into the groove beyond the spring tongues. The tongues then spring back together and prevent the bristle trim, which is thickened by the cord or wire, from being pulled out.

In addition to the clamping bracket, the bristles can be glued to at least the base of the groove to ensure a secure hold. The groove can be U-shaped in cross-section.

To attach the strip brush, the bristle body, which can preferably be made of a rubber-like plastic, can have a fastening section that is extended in the direction of the bristles. In another embodiment, the bristle body can have a fastening section that is bent at right angles to the direction of the bristles, depending on the local conditions when installing the strip brush. The strip brush can also be conveniently wound up. The brush can then be kept in large lengths on rolls or in boxes. If necessary, strip brushes of the desired length can then be cut from it.

Fig. la shows a cross section of a bristle body 10 of a strip brush according to the invention with a U-shaped groove 11 into which resilient tongues 12, 13 protrude. In this embodiment, the tongues 12, 13 are formed as one piece with the bristle body 10. Fig. lb shows the cross section of the bristle body 10 from Fig. la, wherein a bristle trimming consisting of bristles 15, which are laid around a wire 14, is inserted into the groove 11 and clamped between the tongues 12, 13. Instead of a wire 14, a rod or a cord can also be used depending on the requirements for the flexibility of the brush.

Fig. 2 shows the cross section of a bristle body 10' with a groove 11' and the resilient tongues 12', 13', wherein the bristle body 10' has a fastening section 16 extended in the direction of the bristles. An adhesive surface can be provided on the fastening section 16, with which the brush can be fastened, for example, to a door or the like.

Fig. 3 shows a further embodiment in which the bristle body 10'' has a fastening section 17 bent at a right angle to the bristle direction. This allows the brush to be attached to the underside of an object, for example a door.

Claims (10)

1. Strip brush with a strip-shaped bristle body ( 10 ) made of a flexible material with a bristle trim, characterized in that the bristle body ( 10 ) has a groove ( 11 ) for receiving the bristle trim, wherein at least one resilient tongue ( 12 , 13 ) for clamping the bristles ( 15 ) is arranged within the groove ( 11 ). 2. Strip brush according to claim 1, characterized in that the at least one resilient tongue ( 12 , 13 ) is formed integrally with the bristle body ( 10 ). 3. Strip brush according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that two resilient tongues ( 12 , 13 ) which clamp the bristles ( 15 ) between them are arranged in the groove ( 11 ). 4. Strip brush according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the bristles ( 15 ) are placed around a rod, a wire ( 14 ) or a cord and are introduced together with this or these into the groove ( 11 ). 5. Strip brush according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the bristles ( 15 ) are glued at least to the groove base. 6. Strip brush according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the groove ( 11 ) is U-shaped in cross section. 7.
