Bekannte Schützer bestehen aus einem Schaumstoffpuffer, auf den eine Kunststoffschale aufgenäht oder aufgenietet ist. Schalenförmig sitzen die meisten dieser Schützer vor der Kniescheibe oder dem Ellenbogen und bieten zu wenig Schutz bei seitlichem Aufprall. Der Knieschützer Fig. 1 besteht aus mehreren, vorzugsweise aus sieben Aufprallschalen, die auf einem Puffer sitzen, einem Gurtsystem und einem alles umgebenden flexiblen Material als äußere Hülle, mit Aussparungen für die Aufprallschalen.The knee protector Fig. 1 consists of several, preferably seven impact shells, which sit on a buffer, a belt system and a flexible material surrounding everything as an outer shell, with recesses for the impact shells.

Zum Anschnallen des Schützers werden die Gurte 3 durch die Schnallen 1 gezogen und mit Klettverschluß 4 fixiert (bekanntes System). Bei wiederholtem An- und Ausziehen des Schützers muß nur eine Seite geöffnet werden. Die Arretierung Fig.10 der Schnürung funktioniert nach dem von Rucksäcken und Jacken bekannten Prinzip, bei dem die Kordel mittels Feder 19 zwischen zwei Kunststoffteile 20 geklemmt wird. In diesem Fall ist die Arretierung so abgeändert, daß sie mit ihrem breiten, flachen Fuß am Stoff der Hose durch nähen, nieten oder ähnliches befestigt 21 ist.
