The applicant is not aware of any solutions to the problem in the form described in the claims.

Problem/solution: P1) Mouse operation on portable computers

a) The subject matter (invention) specified in the claims is based on the problem that when using a portable computer (laptop, notebook or similar devices), the area required to operate a mouse connected to the computer is often not available.

b) This is especially true when the portable computer with a connected mouse is used on the knees or on an extremely soft, uneven surface, e.g. a bed.

c) Since the "pad part" can be plugged into the "base" on the left or right - in solution V1 -, folded out of the "base" - in solution V2 - and pulled out - in solution V3 -, the different motor skills of left- and right-handed people are taken into account when handling the mouse.
