Ein solcher Baustein zeichnet sich erfindungsgemäß dadurch aus, dass der Baustein auf zumindest einer Oberseite zumindest eine Nut zur einschiebbaren Aufnahme eines Verbindungsgliedes zur Verbindung mit einem mit einer korrespondierenden Nut versehenen benachbarten Bausteines aufweist, wobei die Ausbildung der zumindest einen Nut und korrespondierend hierzu des Verbindungsgliedes derart gehalten ist, dass eine formschlüssige Verbindung in Richtung senkrecht zu der Oberfläche der verbundenen Bausteine besteht.
