Das wird im Kern dadurch erreicht, dass die beiden Haltearme in Verbindung mit dem Befestigungsbereich eine Aufnahme für den Ausleger des zu kennzeichnenden Gegenstandes bzw. die Platte oder die Planke der Palette formen. Dadurch, dass der Ausleger bzw. die Platte oder Planke in die Aufnahme eingreift, wobei der Befestigungsbereich gleichzeitig als Anschlag wirkt, können die den Befestigungssteg hintergreifenden Haltekrallen an den Haltearmen für eine zuverlässige Festlegung sorgen.
