1 Simple wedge tanks are already available on the market and serve the purpose of separating young animals of species such as tetras, rasbora (such as guinea fowl rasbora) and others from the parents in aquaristics / terraristics. The wedge has a slit just big enough for the juveniles to pass through, through which the hatched juveniles swim unerringly into the juvenile fish chamber, where they are safe from the prey of the parent fish. The parents are usually too big for the opening and therefore cannot enter the young fish chamber. Here the young can then be caught and transferred to a rearing tank.

Wedge tanks of the usual design have a front pane, rear pane, side panes, bottom panes and separating panes arranged at an angle to a wedge, as well as a filter unit.

1.1 Common designs represent a complete aquarium with firmly bonded separating discs arranged in a wedge. The conveying equipment behind the separating discs arranged in a wedge shape convey the water located behind the wedge through the filter medium back into the space of the aquarium/terrarium in front of the dividing walls. Due to the suction effect of the filter unit, water flows automatically and continuously from the area in front of the wedge wall through the wedge to the filter unit unit. 2.0 The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating a wedge tank which ensures that an existing aquarium can be retrofitted or converted into a wedge tank on a case-by-case basis without the breeder/keeper having to buy a completely new aquarium/terrarium.
