Press for obtaining a mixture of juice and pressed residues from juicy pieces

The invention relates to a press according to the preamble of the main claim.

Juice presses are particularly well-known for citrus fruits, and their operation involves separating the juice - possibly containing fruit cells - from the peel and other residues (partitions). The term pomace is also used for such residues.

Now there are also drinks made from citrus fruits, namely limes (Caipirinfra"), which contain not only the fruit juice but also residues in the form of broken peels; the latter are largely responsible for the aroma of the drink. It is therefore also important to break open the peels so that their aroma can escape. The production of such drinks cannot therefore be carried out in conventional juice presses, but has to be done in a laborious, time-consuming and person-dependent, i.e. subjective, way by manually pressing or pounding lime pieces with a wooden mallet.

The invention is based on the object of creating an apparatus with which mixtures of the type mentioned can be produced in a simple manner. The respective mixture can be a drink, a sauce, a dressing or another product

which contains both the juice and residues of the respective fruit (in the broadest sense of the word).

The solution to this problem according to the invention consists in a press with the features of the main claim; advantageous embodiments are described in the subclaims.

In the press according to the invention, pieces of limes, for example, are grasped, squeezed more or less intensively and the squeezed juice and the squeezed pieces are simultaneously ejected into a collecting container. It is important to maintain a gap between the two rollers that is large enough to ensure that the juice is squeezed out as desired, and to ensure that the pieces are transported and that jamming on the rollers is avoided.

Several embodiments of the invention are explained below with reference to the drawing.

In Fig. 1, 1 shows a frame-shaped bearing arrangement with four pivot bearings Z , 3, 4 and 5 for the shafts 6 and 7 of the two rollers 9 and 10, which rotate in opposite directions when the hand crank 8, which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the shaft 6, is operated. This opposite direction is produced by the meshing gears 11 and 12, which, when assembled, are in a rotationally fixed connection with one of the rollers 9 and 10. The rollers and gears each have the same diameter, and the gears also have the same number of teeth.

By turning the crank 8 clockwise it is ensured that the opposing manifolds 13 are kept in the same position.

In a first embodiment of the invention, the gears 11, 12 are arranged outside the frame-like bearing arrangement 1 and thus outside the path of the pieces in a rotationally fixed manner on the shafts 6, 7, in a second embodiment within the bearing arrangement 1. In the first case, a cover - not shown - is required for the gears in order to avoid fingers or objects getting trapped, in the second case these must be designed in such a way that the pieces are not trapped between them.

In particular, when the rollers 9, 10 are profiled on their outer surfaces in order to improve their transport effect, preferably with profiles in the form of webs running along surface lines (i.e. parallel to the shafts 6, 7), it is expedient to install scrapers for pieces adhering to the rollers 9, 10 downstream. The edges 14 and 15 of the passage opening 16 for the obtained mixture, into which the rollers 9, 10 protrude, in the base plate 17, which is provided on the side of the bearing arrangement 1 facing away from the funnel-like piece feed 22 , serve this purpose. This base plate 17, which is held by three column-like supports 18, 19 and 20, carries not only the bearing arrangement 1 but also the dome-shaped hand rest Z\ for locking the press during operation.

If roller 31 is rotated by a motor torque generator or manually in the direction of arrow 35, it takes roller 30 with it in the direction of arrow 36 via mutual flank contact of profiles 32 and 33. Since the profiles on the upper parts of the rollers also support the transport of pieces to the gap 34 and through the gap, they have a dual function.

The small number of strip-like profiles and edge-free, gradual transitions prevent the pieces from sticking to the rollers 30, 31. If necessary, the movement is transmitted unevenly, similar to a Malters drive. In addition, the edge areas of the passage opening 37 in the base plate 38 have scrapers 39 and 40, possibly made of elastic material.

As can be seen from this description of embodiments, the invention solves the defined problem with little effort and robust means.

Claims (12)

1. Press for obtaining a mixture of pressed juice and pressed residues from pieces containing juice, in particular pieces of citrus fruit, characterized by at least two rotatably mounted rollers ( 9 , 10 ) arranged essentially perpendicularly in a substantially horizontal plane, on which a rotary drive ( 8 , 11 , 12 ) acts to rotate them in opposite directions in such a way that, while maintaining a gap ( 13 ), opposing jacket regions of both rollers ( 9 , 10 ) move essentially perpendicular to the plane downwards in the direction of a collecting container, and characterized by a funnel-like feed ( 22 ) for the pieces which is open at the top. 2. Press according to claim 1, characterized in that the rotary drive contains a torque generator ( 8 ) connected in a rotationally fixed manner to one of the rollers ( 9 ) and meshing gears ( 11 , 12 ) connected in a rotationally fixed manner to one of the rollers ( 9 , 10 ). 3. Press according to claim 2, characterized in that at least the torque generator ( 8 ) of the rotary drive ( 8 , 11 , 12 ) is arranged outside a housing ( 1 ) accommodating the rollers ( 9 , 10 ). 4. Press according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the rollers ( 30 , 31 ) have webs ( 32 , 33 ) designed on their outer surfaces for transporting the pieces. 5. Press according to claim 4, characterized in that the webs ( 32 , 33 ) of both rollers ( 30 , 31 ) are offset from one another in the circumferential direction thereof. 6. Press according to claim 5, characterized in that the webs ( 32 , 33 ) run at least substantially parallel to the horizontal plane and, in the opposing shell regions, project into channel-like regions of the other rollers ( 30 , 31 ) running between webs ( 32 , 33 ) while maintaining the gap ( 34 ). 7. Press according to claim 6, characterized in that the webs ( 32 , 33 ) and the channel-like regions are in one-sided meshing engagement with one another and at the same time form a movement coupling. 8. Press according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the press contains a base plate ( 17 ) provided with a passage ( 16 ) for the mixture, mounted substantially horizontally ( 18 , 19 , 20 ), which carries a rotary bearing arrangement ( 1 ) for the rollers ( 9 , 10 ) and the funnel-like feed ( 22 ) and, in addition, forms a hand rest ( 21 ), under which a support ( 20 ) is arranged. 9. Press according to claim 8, characterized by a spherical cap-shaped hand rest ( 21 ). 10. Press according to claim 8 or 9, characterized in that an edge ( 14 , 15 ) of the passage ( 16 ) forms or carries a scraper. 22. Press according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that the torque generator contains a hand-operated crank ( 8 ). 23. Press according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterized by a motor torque generator.
