Den Abschluss bildet eine ungefräste Deckplatte. Ein Zwischenraum zwischen Deckplatte und oberem Korpusrand ermöglicht das Auflegen eines kleinen Kartons mit schlupfbereiten Wildbienenkokons. Ein Metallgitter verschließt die Vorderseite/Ausflugseite und bietet ausreichend Schutz vor Vogel- und Nagetierfraß. Das Gitter ist mit einem geeigneten Verschluss versehen und kann leicht geöffnet werden. Eine Schieferplatte bietet ausreichend Regenschutz, das Eigengewicht des Hotels gewährleistet ausreichend Verwehungsschutz bei normaler Windstärke. Die auseinandernehmbaren Brutplatten ermöglichen eine gezielte Entnahme der Wildbienenkokons im Überwinterungsstadium.
