Unter Quellsteinen versteht man Findlinge, Felsbrocken und künstliche Steine in die ein durchgehendes Loch gebohrt ist, damit, mittels einer Pumpe, ein Wasserkreislauf möglich wird, hi einer solchen Anlage quillt Wasser aus der Bohröffhung des Steines und läuft über den selben ab. Durch Verdunstung wird ein angenehmes Kleinklima geschaffen; besonders aber wird die dekorative Wirkung einer solchen Anlage geschätzt. Dabei ist der Wasseraustritt am Quellstein und an der Wasserdüse bei Springbrunnen von ganz besonderem optischen Reiz. Um dies richtig in Szene setzen zu können, bedarf es eines neuartigen Beleuchtungssystems. Die ringförmige Leuchte erhellt das austretenden Wasser, wobei die Lichtstrahlen gebrochen werden und reizvolle Licht- und Schattenspiele auf die Umgebung projezieren. Profilierungen des Harzkörpers der Quellstein- und Springbrunnenleuchte können diese Effekte noch steigern.
