Vehicle holder for liquid containers

The invention relates to vehicle holders for liquid containers according to the preamble of claim 1.

A known vehicle holder of this type (US 5,054,733) consists of just two sections that can be moved longitudinally relative to one another. A first lower section is fixed in position, while a second section, which carries the support edge, can be moved and fixed in the axial direction. In order to ensure that the beverage container is sufficiently fixed, this known device has an additional clamping device on the second extendable section, which clamps against the outer surface of the beverage container under pre-tension. Such a construction is complex and sensitive.

Furthermore, a vehicle holder is known (DE 41 25 783 Al) which has a horizontally extendable slide, on the underside of which a support area for liquid containers is arranged downwards around horizontal parallel axes.

is pivotally hinged^ The liquid container is only fixed to the contact surface by friction and is therefore insufficiently fixed. If the diameter of the liquid container is significantly smaller than the edge of the through opening in the slide that surrounds it, the liquid container is not held securely enough.

Based on this prior art, the invention is based on the object of designing a holder of the type assumed to be known in such a way that it is simply designed and securely supports the liquid container over a substantial part of its height.

This problem is solved with the features of claim 1.

The holder can be designed with its sections in such a way that it can be easily accommodated in the armrests, consoles or trays of motor vehicles when pushed together. The height of the upper edge can be selected according to the height of the liquid container used. Preferably, the sections can be securely locked against each other in their extended positions.

A preferred embodiment of the invention is described in detail below with reference to the drawings.

A cylindrical vessel 1 has three sections 3, 4 and 5. Section 3 has a base with a support surface 2 for a liquid container. Section 3 is surrounded by section 4, section 4 by section 5. Section 4 slides on section 3 and section 5 on section 4.

Sections 4 and 5 each have two longitudinal guide grooves 4b and 5b running in the direction of the longitudinal axis on opposite sides. Outward-facing pins 3a arranged adjacent to the upper edge of section 3 engage in the longitudinal guide grooves 4b, and pins 4a engage in the longitudinal guide grooves 5b. At the lower end of the longitudinal guide grooves 4b and 5b there are transverse groove areas 4c and 5c which are separated from the longitudinal guide grooves 4b and 5b by constrictions 6. The constrictions 6 form locking areas for the pins 3a and 4a and fix them in the twisted locking position. The pins 4a are arranged on section 4 offset in the circumferential direction relative to the longitudinal guide grooves 4b. As shown in Fig. 2 and 3, the cylindrical vessel 1, when pushed together, only slightly exceeds the height of one of the sections 3, 4 or 5.

To hold a liquid container, sections 4 and 5 are pulled out upwards in the longitudinal axis direction and rotated in the circumferential direction. The pins 3a and 4a slide downwards in the longitudinal guide grooves 4b and 5b respectively and are pressed into the transversely angled groove area 4c and 5c via the constriction 6. After this, the holder can no longer be pushed together without rotating sections 4 and 5. The upper area of the upper section forms the upper support edge for the liquid container. With low containers, not all sections have to be pulled out and the container edge remains accessible even with such low containers.

Claims (4)

1. Vehicle holder for liquid containers with a lower support surface ( 2 ) for the container bottom and a support edge arranged at a distance above it, the distance of which from the support surface ( 2 ) can be increased for the use state, consisting of a circular cylindrical vessel ( 1 ), the bottom of which forms the support surface ( 2 ) and has cylindrical sections ( 3 ; 4 ; 5 ) which are slidably connected to one another in the direction of the longitudinal axis and can be fixed to one another, with a cylindrical section engaging around an adjacent cylindrical section with a sliding fit, characterized in that the vessel ( 1 ) has three sections ( 3 ; 4 ; 5 ) which are slidably connected to one another in the direction of the longitudinal axis, with adjacent sections ( 3 , 4 or 4 , 5 ) being designed to be rotatable relative to one another about the longitudinal axis for fixing or releasing. 2. Vehicle holder according to claim 1, characterized in that each section ( 3 ; 4 ) has a pin ( 3a ; 4a ) which engages in an axially parallel extending longitudinal guide groove ( 4b ; 5b ) of an adjacent section ( 4 ; 5 ). 3. Vehicle holder according to claim 2, characterized in that the longitudinal guide groove ( 4 b; 5 b) is adjoined by a groove region ( 4 c; 5 c) running transversely to its longitudinal extension, into which the pin ( 3 a; 4 a) engages in the extended state of the sections ( 3 ; 4 ; 5 ). 4. Vehicle holder according to claim 3, characterized in that a constriction ( 6 ) is provided between the longitudinal guide groove ( 4 b; 5 b) and the transverse groove region ( 4 c; 5 c).
