Description

Holder for a mobile phone and/or a drinks container and/or another object in a motor vehicle.

The invention relates to a holding device for a mobile phone (cell phone) and/or a drinks container and/or another object in a motor vehicle with a holding module arranged in the dashboard and which can be pulled out like a drawer when in use.

Various holding devices have become known which can only hold a beverage container, such as a cup or a can, as described, for example, in DE 199 26 003 A1.

The main feature of these holding devices is that they can be moved from a non-use position to a use position in the dashboard of a motor vehicle, particularly the center console, in the form of a drawer. However, such devices are only suitable for holding beverage containers.

Furthermore, various holders for mobile phones have already been proposed. There are devices that are attached to the side of the center console in the passenger's footwell, as described in US Patent No. 5,048,083, for example. The mobile phone is inserted into this holder. However, the positioning of this holder results in disadvantages in terms of its usability by the driver.

Other holders for mobile phones are attached to the ventilation grille of the ventilation system on the center console, as described, for example, in JP 10016624 A.

The disadvantage of such mounts is that they are not very stable and do not look very appealing. Last but not least, any connecting cables for such a hands-free system are not covered; they usually hang loosely in front of the center console.

The known state of the art also includes the holder for a mobile phone according to DE 297 15 353 U1, which is equipped with connections, in particular for power supply, external antenna and a hands-free system. When the mobile phone is inserted into the holder, the assigned connections of the phone are simultaneously connected to those of the holder.

Furthermore, DE 199 06 051 A1 discloses a holding device for mobile phones which can be moved in the form of a drawer from a non-user position in the control panel (centre console) to a position in which the mobile phone can be used. It is also intended to equip the device in such a way that different holding shells for mobile phones are available as exchangeable holding shell modules.

It is also known that connections for power supply, external antenna and hands-free system can be integrated into the holder.

It is also known from DE 197 55 621 A1 that an electric motor makes it easier to extend the mobile phone holder.

However, all of these holders have the major disadvantage that they can only hold mobile phones.

This is where the invention aims to remedy the situation.

The object of the invention is to create a holding device in a motor vehicle which, through various holder attachment modules, makes the holding device usable as a holder for drinks containers, as a holder for mobile phones (cell phones) or as a holder for other objects, such as remote controls for automatic garage/garden doors. This multifunctional holding device should meet appropriate optical requirements and ensure good functionality in the respective area of application as a holder for mobile phones, drinks containers or other objects.

This problem is solved by the features listed in claim 1.

According to the invention, this is achieved by using the position of an existing (drinks) holder in the center console of many vehicle models to accommodate the variable holding device according to the invention, which can be used as a drinks holder, mobile phone holder or holder for another object depending on the needs of the vehicle user. This provides a functionally advantageous solution that also meets visual requirements, since the holding device is not disturbing when not in use. The holding device is only visible when it is needed, since it can be brought into the position of use in the form of a drawer from a shaft in the center console. The variability of the holding device also makes it unnecessary in most cases to subsequently attach other holding devices, which are often perceived as annoying stopgap solutions anyway.

The objects that are inserted into the respective holder attachment modules of the holding device are securely connected to it by means of a positive connection and/or clamping connection. By clamping and/or snapping and/or pressing and/or screwing the respective holder attachment module onto the holder base frame, both components form a connection that prevents accidental release during normal driving. The holder attachment modules are designed in such a way that the corresponding object is inserted vertically or almost vertically from above into the holder attachment module. In the case of mobile phones or remote controls in particular, the control panel then faces into the vehicle interior.
The further development according to claim 4 makes it possible to considerably simplify the pulling out and/or inserting of the holding device.

To ensure the multifunctional use of the holding device, a certain basic range of holder attachment modules is essential. The following should be available:

a module as a universal holder for beverage containers according to claim 6.

a module as a universal holder for objects such as remote controls for automatic garage/garden gates according to claim 8.

a module as a universal mobile phone holder according to claim 9.

In another form of adaptation, holder attachment modules are proposed, such as:

specific modules for receiving associated large beverage containers according to claim 7.

specific modules for accommodating associated mobile phone models without further connections according to claim 10.

specific modules for accommodating associated mobile phone models with corresponding connections for power supply and/or external antenna and/or hands-free device and/or amplifier according to claim 11.

The training variants listed enable the user to use the holding device either as a universal multifunctional holder for beverage containers, mobile phones or other objects, or as a specific holder for, for example, an associated mobile phone model.

Since many motor vehicles usually have two drinks can holders in the center console area anyway, their positions could be used to install the holder on which the invention is based. Holder attachment modules can also be combined to suit the individual needs of the driver, for example two drinks can holder modules or one holder module each for a mobile phone and a drinks container. This is a professional and visually appealing way of safely carrying objects in the vehicle. When used as a mobile phone holder in particular, an optimal solution is achieved that combines the advantages of a permanently installed car telephone system in terms of usability and quality with the possibility of easily taking the mobile phone with you. In addition, no cable connections between the mobile phone and the on-board electronics need to be made by hand, since these connections are already made when the mobile phone is inserted into the assigned module.

Fig. 1 shows the holding device installed in a control panel in the non-user state, in a cross-section through the control panel.

Fig. 2 the control panel according to Fig. 1 with the holding device in use, but without a holder attachment module.

Fig. 3 shows the control panel according to Fig. 1 with the holding device in use, with a holder attachment module for use as a mobile phone holder and a mobile phone inserted therein.

Fig. 4 shows the control panel according to Fig. 1 with the holding device in use, with another holder attachment module for use as a holder for beverage containers and a beverage can inserted therein.

Fig. 1 shows a schematic cross-section through the control panel 2 of a motor vehicle, in the area of the center console 3. There is a shaft 4 that can completely accommodate the holding device 1 when not in use. The front wall of the holder attachment module 7 and the surrounding wall of the control panel 2 form a uniform surface.

In order to be able to use the holding device 1, it must be brought into the operating state. In Fig. 2, the operating state can be seen in the schematic cross section according to Fig. 1. Here, the basic holder frame 5 is extended, but no holder attachment module 6 is attached.

By clamping and/or snapping and/or pressing and/or screwing a holder attachment module 6 onto the holder base frame 5, the holding device 1 is prepared for the corresponding objects.

Fig. 3 shows that the holder attachment module 6 is attached for a specific mobile phone 8. As can be seen from Fig. 3, the mobile phone 8 is inserted into the holder attachment module 6 from above in such a way that its lower area is positively received in the holder attachment module 6 or is clamped there. Furthermore, the mobile phone 8 is positioned with the control panel 9 facing the vehicle interior and is either vertical, as shown in Fig. 3, or slightly inclined in order to ensure optimal operation in each case. This has further advantages, because no electrical connections have to be made by hand and no cables hang loosely in the vehicle interior, because the equipment of the holding device 1 with connections for power supply and/or external antenna and/or hands-free system and/or amplifier makes this superfluous. The connections themselves are not shown in detail in the drawing. In addition, the schematic drawing does not show that the holder attachment modules 6 can be shaped differently for respective mobile phone models.

To illustrate that the holding device 1 can be used for a wide variety of objects, Fig. 4 illustrates its use as a beverage can holder.

Here, the holder attachment module 6 is designed in such a way that it can hold a vertically standing beverage can 10 after being attached to the holder base frame 5. The beverage can 10 is held in place by the holder attachment module 6 either in a form-fitting manner or by means of a clamp closure. Since the same procedure is to be followed for other objects, such as a remote control for automatic garage/garden gates, i.e. a corresponding holder attachment module 6 is to be attached to the holder base frame 5, further figures will be omitted at this point.

It can also be seen that the holding device 1 can be returned from the use state shown in Fig. 4, for example, to the non-use state by pushing it into the shaft 4. This is facilitated by a mechanism and/or electric motor (not shown in detail). The non-use state can be seen in Fig. 1. Here the front wall of the holder attachment module 6 and the surrounding wall of the control panel 2 again form a uniform surface. Thus, when not in use, the holding device 1 is integrated in the center console 3 in a visually unobtrusive manner and can be easily extended if necessary.

If the user needs the holding device 1 for another object, only the holder attachment module 6 needs to be replaced.

Claims (11)

1. Holding device for a mobile phone and/or a drinks container and/or another object in a motor vehicle with a control panel and a variable holding module attached therein, into which a mobile phone, a drinks container and/or another object can be inserted with the lower area approximately vertically from above and which can be pulled out in the shape of a drawer from a non-use state into a use position for inserting the object, characterized in that the holding device ( 1 ) is designed from a variable holder attachment module ( 6 ) fastened to a holder base frame ( 5 ) by means of a snap-in, clamp or screw connection for multifunctional use as a mobile phone holder, holder of a drinks container or another object, such as a remote control for an automatic garage/garden door. 2. Holding device according to claim 1, characterized in that the holding device ( 1 ) with the respective variable holder attachment module ( 6 ) is integrated into the control panel ( 2 ) of the motor vehicle, in particular the center console ( 3 ), wherein in the non-use state the front wall of the holder attachment module ( 7 ) forms a uniform surface with the surrounding wall of the control panel ( 2 ). 3. Holding device according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the holding device ( 1 ) can be pulled out of a shaft ( 4 ) parallel to the vehicle's longitudinal axis, the pulling out/sliding being supported by a guide if necessary. 4. Holding device according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the pulling out/sliding of the holding device ( 1 ) is facilitated by a mechanism and/or an electric motor. 5. Holding device according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the holder attachment module ( 6 ) ensures a stable connection by clamping and/or snapping and/or pressing and/or screwing onto the holder base frame ( 5 ), which is designed in such a way that it does not come loose during normal driving and also in extreme driving situations. 6. Holding device according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that holder attachment modules ( 6 ) are available which can accommodate beverage containers ( 10 ) of different sizes with the lower edge and can securely accommodate the beverage container ( 10 ) in the holder attachment module ( 6 ) and thus in the holding device ( 1 ) by means of a clamping device. 7. Holding device according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that associated holder attachment modules ( 6 ) are available which can accommodate specifically large beverage containers ( 10 ) in a form-fitting and precise manner. 8. Holding device according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that holder attachment modules ( 6 ) are available which can receive an object, such as a remote control for automatic garage/garden doors, with the lower edge and can receive this object securely in the holder attachment module ( 6 ) and thus in the holding device ( 1 ) by means of a clamping device. 9. Holding device according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that holder attachment modules ( 6 ) are available which can accommodate a mobile phone ( 8 ) with the lower edge and can securely accommodate the mobile phone ( 8 ) in the holder attachment module ( 6 ) and thus in the holding device ( 1 ) by means of a clamping device. 10. Holding device according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that associated holder attachment modules ( 6 ) are available which can accommodate specific mobile phone models in a form-fitting and precise manner. 11. Holding device according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the holder attachment modules ( 6 ) for receiving specific mobile phone models have connections for power supply and/or external antenna and/or hands-free system and/or amplifier, which establish the corresponding connections when the holder attachment module ( 6 ) is applied to the holder base frame ( 5 ) and the mobile phone ( 8 ) is inserted.
