Description

Practically all sports that require a good sense of balance, such as skateboarding, snowboarding, ice sailing, water skiing, etc., are usually only possible up to a certain age.

In order to enable older people and people with a less well-developed sense of balance to practice corresponding sports, it is possible to install a balance aid.

01.02 Flexibility

A basic device should be developed that, thanks to appropriate features, is suitable for a wide range of sports and activities and therefore has a high level of utility.

01.03 Cost factor

With a basic investment, the possibility of expansion and additions is kept open when purchasing the basic module.
The initial investment is therefore not lost if you switch to other activities.

01.04 Exchange

Since the intention is to produce the base modules with the adapters and locking devices in identical dimensions, it is possible to exchange the modules for the different sports or to sell them as used parts.

01.05 Improving mobility for disabled people

People with limited mobility should be enabled to expand their sphere of activity according to their needs.
This requires a device that meets the following performance characteristics:

- cost-effective

- roadworthy and inherently stable

- easy to handle

- low weight

- low maintenance costs

- Motor drive can be switched on

- drive energy that is easy and quick to obtain (not the case with batteries)

02 Basic idea

A platform must be created from which the above requirements can be met.

This is done by a base module which is manufactured as a flat body made of metal or plastic.

The basic module can be connected to the corresponding components of the respective sport using mechanical connections (plug sleeves, locks, screw connections, adapters, etc.).

In order to make it much easier for beginners to get started in a sport that requires a high degree of balance, the base module can be equipped with a height-adjustable handle aid.

The basic module creates a unit that includes a very wide variety of possible uses.

03 Realization

The following components are used for the solution

03.01 Basic module

This is a platform made of metal or plastic that is equipped with the adapters and locks required to attach the components.

03.02 Axles

Several different axle versions are available, depending on the type of use.

Axles mounted vertically

These are axles with rubber bearings in the center to achieve control functions by shifting weight.

The rubber mount is also used to hold a plug-in adapter with locking mechanism. This adapter is used for plug-in installation on the base module.

Axles mounted horizontally

The basic element consists of a tube in which the axle is rotatably mounted. The disc element for the disc brake is mounted on the axle with screws. Either different wheels or corresponding extension adapters (depending on stability requirements) can be mounted on the ends of the axle.

On the rear axle, in addition to the disc for the brake, there are the V-belt pulleys
for drive transmission when using the engine.

03.03 Wheels

The axles are designed in such a way that it is possible to mount a wide variety of different wheels, depending on the intended use, ranging from a solid rubber wheel with a small diameter to an air-filled wheel with a large diameter.

03.04 Handlebar

The handlebar consists of two stainless steel tubes that slide into each other and can be locked in place.

If the turning function is to be used, a quick release axle that ends in a ball head is inserted in the lower part of the handlebar in the front area (in the direction of travel). The connection to the wheels to be steered is made using 2 wishbones, each of which ends in a ball socket.

Alternatively, a control function can also be implemented using cables. The upper tube ends in a removable cross tube with handles. Sliding contacts are mounted in the lower part of the lower tube. These contacts establish a connection to the round batteries that are inserted in the upper tube.

This connection is used to charge the batteries and supply power to the LED rear light that is to be mounted in the rear area of the base module.

In the upper tube there is a socket for a headlight equipped with LEDs; the socket is also equipped with sliding contacts for the power supply.

03.05 Handle balance aid

The element shown above can be transformed into a rigid element by means of an appropriate locking mechanism.

Then the element serves exclusively to support the sense of balance and does not have any control function.

When used in this way, the crossbar, which is normally used for steering purposes, can be removed and replaced with a rubber gag.

03.06 Drive motor

The drive is a two-stroke combustion engine (similar to that used in chainsaws)

intended.

The adaptation as a drive motor is carried out by appropriate conversions:

- Plug-in adapter for quick assembly and disassembly on the base module

- Tap on the ignition and installation of a charge controller for batteries

- Conversion to V-belt drive

- Conversion of carburettor (air chamber system with water separator) for propulsion in water

03.07 Seat

The seat consists of two stainless steel tubes that slide into each other and can be locked into place.

Different seats can be mounted at the end of the upper unit. At the lower end there are sliding clamps for supplying an LED rear light, which can be plugged in underneath the seat.

As an additional accessory, a ball head can be mounted to accommodate a joint socket for a trailer.

03.08 Skids

In conjunction with the axles to be mounted, skids can be mounted instead of the wheels

This means that the device can also be used on ice surfaces.

03.09 Riqq

03.12 Planing surface for surfing

Using appropriate adapters and quick-release locks, the base module can be mounted on a suitable sliding surface and thus used for surfing.

03.13 Propulsion by kite

In combination with a free-flying kite, all the advantages of the sport, including the beginner's aid function, can also be used.

Claims (17)

1. Multifunctional module for movement sports, characterized in that a basic module enables the practice of different sports by supplementing it with adapter modules. 2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the base module is equipped with adapter connections in the form of threaded sleeves and self-locking plug connections for connection to different devices. 3. Device according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the base module can be used as a skateboard by inserting axles with wheels. 4. Device according to claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the base module can be equipped with self-locking, width-variably adjustable half-axles, each provided with a wheel (which can be mounted in different sizes). 8. Device according to claims 1 to 11, characterized in that the base device can be used as a snow surfer by inserting a surf rig, in conjunction with item 11. 13. Device according to claims 1 to 12, characterized in that the base device can be used as a water ski by mounting it on a suitable sliding surface. 14. Device according to claims 1 to 13, characterized in that the base device can be used as a drive by means of self-locking closures with an internal combustion engine by mounting it on a surfboard. 15. Device according to claims 1 to 14, characterized in that the basic device, in conjunction with item 4 (handlebar, standing aid), can be used for surfing by mounting it on a waveboard. 16.
