The invention relates to a piece of furniture of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1.

There are many different types of furniture that serve a variety of purposes and/or are used to accommodate a variety of objects. There are also pieces of furniture that serve to accommodate or house other pieces of furniture, such as fold-down or pull-out worktops that are movably connected to the actual piece of furniture.

The invention is based on the object of creating a piece of furniture of the type mentioned above, which offers extended functional possibilities while having a pleasant design.

This object is achieved by the features specified in claim 1.

Advantageous embodiments and further developments of the invention emerge from the subclaims.

The inventive design of the piece of furniture makes it possible to use the table in a variety of functional variants, whereby this table can be partially pulled out of the cupboard and used as an additional work or storage surface, or it can be used completely separately from the cupboard. In any case, after pushing the table into the cupboard, this cupboard has a perfect appearance, as the table fits harmoniously into it.

The cabinet can be a freestanding cabinet, or it can form part of a wall unit or the like.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings.

Figure 1 shows an embodiment of the piece of furniture, with the table 20 shown pulled out from the cabinet 10. The cabinet 10 has vertical side walls 11, 12 and an upper horizontal cover plate 13. The cabinet 10 further has a front cover 14, which in the example shown is formed by the front panels of a number of drawers, but can equally be formed partially or completely by a front door or the end faces of individual shelves.

Below the front cover 14, a free space 15 is provided which extends over the entire depth of the cabinet 10, into which the foot part of the

descriptive table 20 can be completely pushed in. In the same way, a free space 16 is provided above the front cover 14, which also extends over the entire depth of the cabinet 10 under the cover plate 13 and is intended for pushing in the table top part of the table 20.

As can be seen in particular from Figures 2, 3 and 4, channel-shaped recesses 17 are also provided between the inner sides of the side walls 11, 12 and the front cover 14, which can accommodate a stand 22 of the support frame of the table 20. In this way, it is possible to slide the table frame completely into the cabinet, with the support frame of the table and its table top being flush with the front of the cabinet 10, as can be seen in particular from Figures 2, 3 and 4. Instead of being flush, the support frame of the table and its table top can also be arranged to project slightly back or forward from the front of the cabinet 10 when pushed into the cabinet in order to repeat certain stylistic shapes of other pieces of furniture.

As can be further seen from Figures 1 and 6 to 9, the table 20 has a support frame with two lower horizontal legs 23 and a cross member 27 connecting them at one end, wherein the lower horizontal legs 23 and the lower cross member 27 support two upper horizontal legs 24 connected via a cross member 26 via two stands 22.

Such a table construction has considerable stability and sturdiness, but constructions are equally conceivable which have only a lower horizontal leg 23 and/or a single vertical stand 22, wherein, in particular in the latter case, the front cover can optionally be divided in order to accommodate a single channel corresponding to the channels 17 in the middle or on the side.

The upper horizontal legs 24 and the cross member support a first table top 21, the length of which in the direction of the horizontal legs 24 is dimensioned such that it corresponds to the depth of the cabinet 10.

To achieve a larger table surface, the upper horizontal legs 24 can be telescopically extendable and have an inner leg 24a, and the

Table top 21 can be connected at the end facing away from the cross member 26 via a hinge to another table top 21a, which can be opened in the manner shown in Figures 8 and 9 and placed on the telescopically extended leg 24a. To increase the stability of the table, it is recommended in this case to also design the lower horizontal legs to be telescopically extendable with an inner leg 23a, as can be seen in Figures 7, 8 and 9.

It is equally conceivable not to connect the two table tops to one another via a hinge, but also to make them extendable, for example by connecting one of the table tops to the telescopically extendable inner leg 24a, while the other table top is connected to the cross member 26.

In the same way, it is possible to design the stands 22 to be telescopically extendable in order to enable a height adjustment of the table top 21, 21a after the table 20 has been pulled out of the cabinet 10.

In any case, it is provided that the table, when retracted into the cabinet 10, is arranged so as to be flush with the front edge of the side walls 11, 12 or the front cover 14, so that in the embodiment shown the cross members 26, 27, the stands 22 and the table tops 21, 21a form a border of the front cover 14, so that a pleasant appearance is achieved with easy handling and reliable functionality.

In particular, this results in the advantage that the storage area on the upper cover plate 13 is available without restriction, since the table top and the upper legs 24 and the cross member 26 are arranged below this cover plate 13. The interior of the cabinet 10 can be covered by an upper cover wall 19 behind the front cover 14 in the manner shown in Figure 3. In addition, the interior can be covered by further vertical side walls 18, as shown in Figure 4.

As shown in Figures 1, 2 and 6 to 9, the support frame may be supported on rollers 25 to facilitate the movement of the table and in particular the insertion and extraction of the table 20 from the cabinet 10.

Claims (9)

1. Piece of furniture with a cupboard ( 10 ) standing on a floor with at least two side walls ( 11 , 12 ), an upper cover plate ( 13 ) and a front cover ( 14 ) which is formed by front panels of drawers or front doors, characterized in that a lower or upper free space ( 15 , 16 ) is provided below and above the front cover ( 14 ), into which a foot part ( 23 ) or a table top part ( 21 , 24 ) of a table ( 20 ) with a table top ( 21 ) attached in a cantilever manner to at least one stand ( 22 ) can be inserted. 2. Piece of furniture according to claim 1, characterized in that on the front of the cabinet ( 10 ) between the inside of at least one of the side walls ( 11 , 12 ) and the vertical side edge of the front cover ( 14 ) a channel-shaped recess ( 17 ) is provided, into which a stand ( 22 ) of the table ( 20 ) can be inserted. 3. Piece of furniture according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the table ( 20 ) has a U-shaped support frame ( 22 , 23 , 24 ) lying in side view with at least one lower ( 23 ) and at least one upper ( 24 ) horizontal leg, wherein the at least one lower leg ( 23 ) supports the at least one upper leg ( 24 ) via at least one stand ( 22 ), on which a table top ( 21 ) is fastened. 4. Piece of furniture according to claim 3, characterized in that the table top ( 21 ) has a length which essentially corresponds to the depth of the cupboard ( 10 ) or its cover plate ( 13 ), and in that a further table top ( 21a) which can be folded onto the table top (21) is hingedly attached to one of the edges of the table top (21 ) , which can be folded down after the table ( 20 ) has been pulled out of the cupboard ( 10 ) in order to form an extension of the table top ( 21 ). 5. Piece of furniture according to claim 3, characterized in that the table top ( 21 ) has a length which essentially corresponds to the depth of the cupboard ( 10 ) or its cover plate ( 13 ), and that a further table top ( 21a ) is slidably attached above or below the table top ( 21 ), which can be moved relative to the table top ( 21 ) after the table ( 20 ) has been pulled out of the cupboard ( 10 ) in order to form an extension of the table top ( 21 ). 6. Piece of furniture according to claim 4 or 5, characterized in that the at least one upper horizontal leg ( 24 ) of the support frame ( 22 , 23 , 24 ) is telescopically extendable in order to support the further table top ( 21a ). 7. Piece of furniture according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the table ( 20 ) and/or the cupboard ( 10 ) is movably supported on rollers ( 25 ). 8. Piece of furniture according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the front side of the support frame ( 22 , 23 , 24 ) of the table forms part of the front cover of the cabinet ( 10 ) and ends flush with it after the support frame has been pushed into the free spaces ( 15 , 16 ) or the channel-shaped recesses ( 17 ). 9. Piece of furniture according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the front side of the support frame ( 22 , 23 , 24 ) of the table forms part of the front cover of the cabinet ( 10 ) after the support frame has been pushed into the free spaces ( 15 , 16 ) or the channel-shaped recesses ( 17 ) and is arranged to project slightly forward or backward relative to this front cover.
