The invention relates to baby carriers which are attached in a face-to-face position in front of the wearer's chest and have straps running over the hips and shoulders.

Baby carriers come in different designs. There are:

Carriers for side seating, where the child sits in a bag on the wearer's hip, suitable from approx. 3 months.

Baby slings offer different ways of carrying your child. You can carry your child lying down, upright, on your hip, in front of your chest and on your back, and are suitable even for babies.

Carrying bags/bags: the child is carried in a face-to-face orientation.

All of these baby carriers distribute the weight of the child across the shoulders of the wearer, which often leads to tension and pain in the neck or back area, and discomfort is either aggravated or caused by it.

There are also back carriers: here the child must already be able to sit alone.

These frames are worn on the back and resemble a backpack with a child seat, suitable from 8 months. Systems that do not have a sufficiently wide and padded belt do not meet the requirements and are also unsuitable for the anatomy of the infant.

The invention specified in patent claim 1 is based on the problem of creating a system in which the wearer carries the weight of the child on his hips and is thus relieved in the neck and back area.

The means of transport must be suitable for infants.

Another problem is the awkward maneuvering of the child in and out of the carrier, due to the straps/bands that must first be fastened to the body of the wearer before the child can be placed in. This means that the infant must be held very high in order to be placed in the carrier, and the weight of the child puts additional strain on the wearer's back.

This problem is solved by the features listed in claim 1.

A carrying system according to the invention has various advantages. Firstly, the weight of the child is shifted to the hips in order to relieve the back of the person carrying it. This means that the infant can be carried for much longer and the necessary physical contact and proximity to the caregivers is automatically provided, for example when doing housework or shopping (this also affects the infant's crying behavior).

The carrying system is used to place the child in the carrier and then put it on like a backpack.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and is described in more detail below. They show:

In Figure 1, the carrier bag is shown from behind, i.e. the large fabric part rests on the chest of the wearer, shoulder strap 1 and hip strap 2 run over the shoulder or the pelvis onto the back of the wearer.

The shoulder straps have compression buckles 3 and straps 4 to adjust to the adult's height. The compression straps are attached to the hip belt so that when the hip belt is closed they are to the right and left of the wearer's spine. This prevents the straps from slipping off the shoulder, as would be the case if the shoulder straps were attached to the baby carrier and not to the hip belt. At the same time, this system makes it easier to put the carrier on and take it off, as it can be handled like a backpack.

The hip belt is equipped with a snap fastener 5 and compression straps so that it can be fixed on the hips, closed in the lumbar region and adjusted to the height of the wearer. The hip belt is fastened on the back, where it can be easily reached with both hands and at the same time cannot be opened accidentally, thus ensuring the child's safety.

The shoulder and hip belts are wide enough across the shoulder and pelvis, and get narrower as they go to save extra weight and avoid unnecessary heat. The shoulder straps also get narrower to be guided past the inside of the shoulder blade, preventing the child from slipping off the shoulders. The hip and shoulder straps are padded with hemp up to the compression straps. (Hemp has various advantages: it is a renewable raw material that does not require herbicides or pesticides to grow and is therefore purely natural and does not contain any carcinogenic or allergenic substances. Hemp is also recyclable.) The padding on the hip belt has the following effect: firstly, it concentrates the child's weight and distributes it evenly across the hips, and secondly, it prevents cutting and rubbing. In the shoulder area, the padding prevents the straps from cutting into the neck and shoulders, and the remaining, small load resting on the shoulders is distributed over a wide area.

The hip pad is stiffened to prevent it from slipping under the weight of the child. It is therefore constantly stable to absorb the weight and distribute it evenly across the hips.

The hip belt runs horizontally as shown in Fig. 2, over the hip bone 6, since the purpose of the hip is to carry weight. Before first use, the carrier is put on and adjusted to the adult's height.

Claims (6)

1. A baby carrier in which the child sits in a face-to-face position on the chest of the wearer, with a carrying system which includes straps running over the shoulders, characterized in that the carrying system further includes a hip belt which is attached to the baby carrier in such a way that it can be closed on the back of the wearer and runs laterally on the hips of the wearer, the hip belt taking up the majority of the weight so that this proportion of the weight is carried by the hips and not by the shoulders. 2. Baby carrier according to claim 1, characterized in that the hip belt is stiffened in the vertical direction parallel to the body of the wearer. 3. Baby carrier according to claim 1, characterized in that the shoulder and hip belt are lined and stabilized with hemp. 4. Baby carrier according to claim 1, characterized in that the shoulder and hip belts are connected to each other by compression buckles. 5. Baby carrier according to claim 1, characterized in that the hip belt can be closed with snap fasteners. 6. Baby carrier according to claim 1, characterized in that compression straps serve to adapt to the body.
