The invention relates to a packaging for a magnetic stripe roll wound on a core element.

Up to now, such magnetic strip rolls have been sealed in a plastic film. The plastic film is then pierced again by placing the magnetic strip roll with its core element on a cutting mandrel. The magnetic strip roll prepared in this way with the plastic film reopened is then placed on a core mandrel in a packaging box, which is also made of cardboard. An intermediate layer element, made of plastic foam material, for example, is placed between adjacent magnetic strip rolls placed on the core mandrel. In this known packaging, the magnetic strip rolls are only very limitedly protected against dust due to the reopened plastic film, which has proven to be inadequate. Such packaging made of cardboard is also sensitive to moisture, which is particularly noticeable during transport by sea.

The magnetic strip of such a magnetic strip roll can, for example, have a width of 6.35 mm or a width of 12.7 mm. Of course, other width dimensions are also possible. The outer diameter of a magnetic strip roll can, for example, be around 300 mm, which means that a magnetic strip roll can have a total length of the magnetic strip of 4000 m or more.

The invention is based on the object of creating a packaging of the type mentioned at the beginning, in which displacements of individual magnetic strip layers of the magnetic strip roll are avoided, complete dust protection of the magnetic strip roll is achieved, and transport damage is reliably prevented.

This object is achieved according to the invention in a packaging of the type mentioned at the outset by a trough element with a base from which a central centering projection for centered fixing of the core element of the magnetic stripe roll and stacking projections radially equidistant from the centering projection for stacking packages on top of one another protrude in the same direction upwards.

The tub element is easy and inexpensive to manufacture. It has only a small wall thickness, so that its own weight is minimal. The tub element has such mechanical strength and dimensional stability that transport damage to the

associated magnetic stripe roll are reliably excluded. The central centering projection for the core element of the magnetic stripe roll, which projects upwards from the floor, has an axial dimension, i.e. height, which is adapted to the axial dimension of the core element, whereby the magnetic stripe roll has a width dimension corresponding to the core element or is only slightly smaller than this.

Stacked tray elements equipped with a magnetic stripe roll rest on top of each other with their stacking attachments, with magnetic stripe rolls stacked on top of each other being separated from each other in a defined manner. The dimensionally stable tray elements reliably prevent shifting of individual magnetic stripe layers of the magnetic stripe rolls.

It has proven to be expedient if, in the packaging according to the invention, the bottom of the tub element is square and if a stacking attachment is provided in each corner area of the square bottom.

To further improve the protection of each magnetic strip roll, it is advisable to have a surrounding wall extending upwards from the outer edge of the base. The surrounding wall is dimensioned in such a way that the stacking lugs protrude beyond the surrounding wall in a defined manner, so that when the tray elements are stacked on top of each other, the walls of the tray elements stacked on top of each other touch each other. In this way, the stacked magnetic strip rolls are protected against external influences.

It is advisable to place an intermediate layer between the bottom of the tray element and the magnetic stripe roll to protect and optimally store the respective magnetic stripe roll.

The intermediate layer element is preferably made of a suitable plastic foam material. This can be a PU foam. The intermediate layer element is designed with a hole corresponding to the central centering projection of the tub element.

For the same purpose, i.e. the further improved protection of the respective magnetic strip roll, it is useful if a second intermediate layer element is arranged on the magnetic strip roll arranged in the tray element. This second intermediate layer element is preferably designed in the same way as the above-mentioned first intermediate layer element on the bottom in order to simplify storage accordingly.

In the packaging according to the invention, the tray element equipped with the magnetic strip roll and the intermediate layer elements is expediently sealed and welded into a plastic film, which provides reliable dust protection for the magnetic strip roll. Such reliable dust protection is of the utmost importance for magnetic strip rolls in order to fulfill the functional properties of the magnetic strip, i.e. not to unintentionally impair it. The plastic film used is, for example, a PE film.

A number of magnetic strip rolls welded into a plastic film, ie a number of packages according to the invention with magnetic strip rolls, are expediently arranged in an outer transport packaging. This outer transport packaging is, for example, an outer packaging made of a cardboard material. A corresponding number of cardboard outer packagings can then also be arranged in a container packaging, which can, for example, have a volume of the order of 1 m ³ .

Figure 1 shows a packaging 10 for a magnetic stripe roll 12. The packaging has a tray element 14 with a base 16. The base 16 has a square base with bevelled corners 18.

As can also be seen from Figure 2, a central centering projection 20 extends from the base 16 and stacking projections 22 radially equidistant from the centering projection 20 extend upwards in the same direction.

In the embodiment shown in Figure 1, the stacking projections 22 have a trapezoidal peripheral edge contour. Of course, the stacking projections 22 can also have a different edge contour.

Each stacking attachment 22 has a circumferential positioning surface 24 on the top and a corresponding circumferential support surface 26 on the bottom. When adjacent packages 10 are stacked on top of one another, the support surfaces 26 on the bottom fit precisely against the positioning surfaces 24 on the top, so that adjacent packages 10 or tray elements 14 of the packages 10 are secured against lateral displacement.

A peripheral wall 30 extends upwards from the outer edge 28 of the base 16 of the tub element 14. The wall 30 has a height dimension that corresponds to the height dimension of the stacking projections 22 between the support surface 26 and the positioning surface 24, so that the walls 30 of the tub elements 14 stacked on top of one another rest against one another. The stacking projections 22 protrude slightly beyond the peripheral wall 30, as shown in Figure 2.

The magnetic strip roll 12 consists of a magnetic strip wound onto an annular core element 32, which is only indicated by a few short lines 36 that are slightly spaced apart from one another (see Figure 1). The core element 32 has a central hole 38, the diameter of which is adapted to the diameter of the central centering projection 20 of the tray element 14, so that the magnetic strip roll 12 is mounted in the tray element 14 on the central centering projection 20 without play.

Before arranging the magnetic stripe roll 12 in the tray element 14, an intermediate layer element (not shown) made of a plastic foam material is arranged in it. After this intermediate layer element has been attached to the base 16, the magnetic stripe roll 12 is arranged in the tray element 14. A second intermediate layer element, which is also not shown in the drawing, is then arranged on the magnetic stripe roll 12 positioned in the tray element.

The tray element 14, which is equipped with the magnetic strip roll 12 and the intermediate layer elements (not shown), is then sealed in a plastic film 40 (see Figure 2). The packages 10 produced in this way are stacked closely on top of one another. A stack of a number of such magnetic strip packages 10 is then arranged in a transport outer packaging made of a cardboard material and prepared for shipping. A number of such transport outer packaging can then be arranged and transported in a transport container, for example.

Claims (7)

Packaging for a magnetic strip roll ( 12 ) wound onto a core element ( 32 ), characterized by a tray element ( 14 ) with a base ( 16 ) from which a central centering projection ( 20 ) for centered fixing of the core element ( 32 ) of the magnetic strip roll ( 12 ) and stacking projections ( 22 ) radially equidistant from the centering projection ( 20 ) for stacking tray elements ( 14 ) on top of one another protrude upwards in the same direction. 2. Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the base ( 16 ) is square and that a stacking attachment ( 22 ) is provided in each corner region ( 18 ). 3. Packaging according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that a wall ( 30 ) extends upwards from the outer edge ( 28 ) of the base ( 16 ). 4. Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that an intermediate layer element is arranged between the base ( 16 ) and the magnetic strip roll ( 12 ). 5. Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that a second intermediate layer element is arranged on the magnetic strip roll ( 12 ) arranged in the trough element ( 14 ). 6. Packaging according to claims 4 and 5, characterized in that the tray element ( 14 ) equipped with the magnetic strip roll ( 12 ) and the intermediate layer elements is welded into a plastic film ( 40 ). 7. Packaging according to claim 6, characterized in that a number of tray elements ( 14 ) each welded into a plastic film ( 40 ) with magnetic strip rolls ( 12 ) are arranged in a transport outer packaging.
