Standard floor lamps are not designed to accommodate desk pendant lights and therefore cannot offer the same benefits. There are also no floor lamps that are equipped with 230V sockets or computer and telephone sockets.

Problem:

The above invention is based on flexible and comfortable office equipment. It enables an office to be refurnished quickly and easily. In the above case, it also ensures that the workstations are supplied with electricity, telephone and computer sockets.

Benefits achieved:

The invention makes it possible to keep the furnishings of offices as flexible as possible. You are not tied to ceiling lights. If the desks are moved, you simply push the floor lamp to the new location and you can carry on working. By equipping the floor lamp with sockets as well as telephone and computer sockets, the workplace is completely restored. The installed lighting control enables fatigue-free working and saves energy. Any existing stucco ceilings in old office buildings can be completely preserved.

The lighting intensity can be increased so that an entire office can be illuminated.

The decorations, switches and sockets can be adapted to the office equipment. By additionally mounting shelves, the floor lamp can be adapted to the local conditions.

To illuminate walkways etc., the adapter stand can be fitted with a pendant light or a ceiling-mounted light on one side as already described, and a standard wall light can also be mounted on the other side.

Description and example:

The floor lamp adapter stand is used to hold commercially available pendant or ceiling-mounted lights. Once the above-mentioned lights have been attached using the support frame, a pendant or ceiling-mounted light has become a floor lamp with all of its advantages.

The advantage of a floor lamp is its flexibility. (It is not permanently mounted above the desk).

If the desk needs to be moved due to a change in furniture or simply because a new employee is joining the office, the floor lamp can be adapted to the local conditions.

Support frame (4):

The support frame is designed in such a way that it not only secures the lamp, but also reinforces the lamp.

This reinforcement is also urgently required, since the above-mentioned lights were of course not designed for one-sided attachment to an adapter stand.

A support frame was deliberately chosen rather than a mounting plate so that the installation of direct and indirect luminaires (these luminaires emit 30% of their light downwards and 70% upwards, which is then reflected by the ceiling and is therefore absolutely glare-free) is possible.

The prototype was immediately equipped with such a lamp and has been tested for a year.

The aluminum T-profiles were used to ensure that the adapter stand does not become top-heavy when the support frame is mounted.

This also meant that the foot could be kept as small as possible.

The adapter stand was made from 40/30 square tubing. The frame is welded and fitted with empty plastic tubes to ensure the power cables can be laid safely. This also allows cables to be laid later (explained in more detail later).

The depth of 40 mm and the front panel [2] (can be made of wood or plastic, depending on your requirements) and rear panel [3] make it possible to use standard switches, sockets, IT and telephone sockets. These are installed in standard cavity wall sockets in order to comply with all VDE regulations.

The window sill [5] serves only as storage and can also be made of other materials such as wood.

A mounting plate has been mounted on the base on the rear. However, it is only used to accommodate a possible light control and the power connection. All empty pipes also end at this point, so this is the only place that needs to be opened in the event of a possible upgrade with the above-mentioned light control or a repair.

All cables (including empty pipes) end in 4 plug-in couplings at the top of the adapter stand.

Because the plugs are mounted on the commercially available lights, the light can later be separated from the adapter stand in just a few steps.

Background:

The aim of the development is to integrate as many commercially available components as possible. This gives us the greatest possible flexibility to respond to customer requirements.

The buyer can now choose a commercially available lamp, the color and size of the adapter stand, the shape and color of the switch and socket program as well as the type of material of the shelf.

The decision whether to simply switch on, dim, or use daylight and presence control is up to the buyer.

For the reasons mentioned above, upgrading is no problem even after the fact.

The light control mentioned several times above means the following:

The adapter stand is equipped with a motion detector so that the light switches on automatically if someone is in the area of the desk.

The set light intensity on the desk is kept constant, which means that when the full light intensity of the lamp is no longer required due to light radiation (e.g. sunlight), it automatically dims down until it switches off automatically.

It also switches on automatically when light is needed and someone is in the area of the desk.

This has been proven to save up to 70% of electricity.

Claims (14)

1. Adapter stand, characterized in that one is no longer tied to pendant lights in the office (flexibility). 2. One light is mounted on the left and one on the right and the stand is placed in the middle of 4 workstations. 3. The support frame reinforces the pendant lights. 4. Adapter stand according to claims 1-3, characterized in that the construction of the support frame also allows direct/indirectly illuminating pendant lights to be mounted. 5.
