Octopus-shaped construction toy with several model parts, the model parts comprising:
a first and a second main body part, both comprising a head portion and a plurality of gripping arm portions below the head portion, the first main body part being provided with a first slot at a lower end and the second main body part being provided with a second slot at an upper end which can engage with the first slot and with two opposing third slots on two sides of a junction of the head portion and the gripping arm portions;
two connecting parts, each of which is provided at one edge with a fourth slot for engaging the third slot on the second main body part and at another edge with a plurality of equally spaced fifth slots; and
a plurality of tentacles, each of which has a shape of a tentacle of an octopus and is provided at a predetermined location with a sixth slot for engagement with any of the fifth slots on the connecting parts.
