INTRODUCTION

The programmable escape door control (PALMATIC.fx) was developed to adapt electrically locked escape doors to the various needs of operators. It allows the use of door components from different manufacturers.

The PALMATIC.fx offers almost unlimited possibilities in terms of both hardware and software. For example, EMA, BMA (GMA), ZKS, display/operating panels and visualization/management systems can be connected and other functions of escape door components can be implemented with the control system.

The PALMATIC.fx can be placed either decentrally (one power supply with mains connection for each escape door control) or centrally (many escape door controls with a common power supply with only one mains connection).

If two or more escape doors are to be combined to form lock functions, this can be achieved using decentralized or centrally arranged PALMATIC.fx.

STRUCTURE OF THE PROGRAMMABLE ESCAPE DOOR CONTROL (PALMATIC.fx)

The PALMATIC.fx consists of hardware and software and has signal inputs and relay outputs. ·.>..'

The signal inputs are used to query the status of the escape door (e.g. key switch / ZKS for authorized access, magnetic contact of the escape door - whether the door is closed, emergency button - whether it has been pressed, etc.).

Activities are controlled via the relay outputs (e.g. activating/deactivating the escape door lock, switching the flashing light/siren on/off, unlocking the emergency lock on the escape door for authorized access from outside, etc.).

The PALMATIC.fx allows automatic escape door release. This is done by the fire alarm system relay, which is triggered by a fire alarm / hazard alarm system. ..

A 24 volt direct current power supply, which can optionally be designed as an uninterruptible power supply, supplies the door components and the PALMATIC.fx for one or more escape doors.

PALMATIC.fx FOR AN ESCAPE DOOR

With the PALMATIC.fx, each escape door receives its own control system, which is installed decentrally in a small housing or centrally with other PALMATIC.fx in a wall / system cabinet.

SECURITY FEATURES OF PALMATIC.fx

The safety functions of an escape door that is electrically locked in accordance with the EItVTR directive are complied with based on the following points:

1. Immediate release of the door lock using the emergency button on the escape door. Pressing the emergency button interrupts the positive and negative paths of the power supply to the electrical door lock. The escape door is no longer electrically locked and can be opened in the escape direction using the door handle.

2. Immediate release of the door lock when a hazard detection system is triggered. The PALMATIC.fx has a fire detection system relay (BMA relay) which is located in the closed circuit of a hazard detection system. If the hazard detection system is triggered, the fire detection system relay drops out. Its two contacts interrupt the positive and negative paths between the power supply and the door lock.

3. Immediate release of the door lock after pressing the emergency button from a permanently manned central location via a safety relay circuit. If the circuit relay is defective, the escape door control prevents the door from being locked again. (This arrangement is only permitted for the escape doors with the approval of the responsible building authority.)

CONTROL, ALARM AND MONITORING FUNCTIONS OF THE PALMATIC.fx

The operating, alarm and monitoring functions of the PALMATIC.fx are as follows:

• Resetting the emergency button on the escape door after it has been triggered (danger or misuse) and acknowledging the alarm using the key switch.

• Authorized door release via key switch or access control system, within a time window in which a door can be opened.

• Permanent release of the escape door via external connection (potential-free contact, display / control panel, visualization or management system).

ALARM FUNCTIONS:

• Activation of a local pre-alarm (siren and/or flashing light) after exceeding a first predefined door opening time. ,

• Activation of a main alarm at a control center after pressing the emergency button, after a break-in, after sabotage or after a second specified door opening time has been exceeded.

MONITORING AND CONTROL FUNCTIONS:

• Tampering with the door terminal or the escape door control housing triggers an alarm.

• The proper functioning of the escape door control is monitored and possible errors are displayed.

• Escape doors can be monitored and controlled via a display/control panel, a PC touch screen or an escape door management system.

The use of a specific connection box depends on which door terminal is used. The connection box has the task of standardizing the connections from the PALMATIC.fx to the escape door components. With the central arrangement of the PALMATIC.fx, it also enables the direct connection of the remote signal cables. In addition to the cable connections, the connection box also contains the fire alarm system relay and a fuse with power failure monitoring.

The PALMATIC.fx is a programmable logic controller that carries out the specified functions required on an electrically locked escape door. While the safety functions lie outside the actual controller, the controller takes over, for example, the authorized release of the escape door.

An alarm siren and/or a flashing light are activated on site at the escape door depending on the current situation. Alarms and information can be forwarded to central control stations from the programmable logic escape door control. The

The programmable logic escape door control used enables flexible and individual adaptation of a single escape door and also central or decentralized placement within a building or building complex.

A major advantage of the PALMATIC.fx is the declaration of conformity from TÜV Südwest. It lists door terminals, emergency buttons and door locks from various manufacturers that can be used together with the PALMATIC.fx. This allows architects and planners to implement different escape door requirements. ^:

ESCAPE DOOR LOCKING

Starting from the power supply of the PALMATIC.fx, the door lock of the escape door is activated 1-pole via a relay contact of the programmable logic controller, 2-pole via the fire alarm system relay (BMA relay) and 2-pole via the emergency button in the door terminal.

FIRE ALARM / HAZARD ALARM SYSTEM TRIGGERED

As soon as a fire alarm system is triggered, the circuit of the fire alarm system relay (BMA relay), which is located in the closed circuit of the fire alarm/hazard alarm system, is interrupted. The BMA relay separates the circuit for the escape door lock on 2 poles.

EMERGENCY BUTTON IS PRESSED ON THE ESCAPE DOOR

When the emergency button on the escape door is pressed - in the event of an emergency or misuse - the 2-pole circuit of the escape door lock is interrupted. This means that the escape door lock is immediately released.

EMERGENCY BUTTON IS PRESSED BY A CONSTANTLY SUPERVISED POSITION

At escape doors where no emergency button is provided on site (psychiatric hospital, nursing home or prison), one or more escape door locks are indirectly activated via a safety relay circuit. The safety relay circuit is triggered via one or more centrally arranged emergency buttons and causes the 2-pole circuit breaker of all activated escape door locks.

1. Electrically lockable escape door with programmable logic escape door control, characterized in that an escape door is electrically locked by a programmable logic escape door control. 2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that a connection box is inserted between the components of the escape door such as door lock, escape door terminal, ID card reader and the programmable logic escape door control. 3. Device according to claim 2, characterized in that the programmable escape door control is connected to the connection box via a plug-in ribbon cable. 4. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the programmable escape door control has a CAN bus interface which allows external monitoring and control devices to be connected.
