Abstract

The invention relates to an electromechanical operating device controlled by a code modifiable remotely and intended for controlling an access-monitoring appliance. The electromechanical device comprises a control unit arranged in the vicinity of the appliance to be controlled and possessing a code input interface (1, 2) connected to a comparator (3), itself connected to a memory (4) containing an actuating code and controlling an electrical actuating device (5), and a coding unit comprising a remote-coding device and connected to the control unit. The control unit also possesses a selector device (12, 15) controlled by the coding unit and transmitting selectively to the memory (4) a code supplied by the input interface (1, 2) or transmitted by the coding unit. The invention is used particularly for controlling the doors of hotel rooms or any other premises, of which the accesses to be protected must or can be monitored by means of a code which has to be modified frequently for security reasons. <IMAGE>
