State of the art

There are portable telephones as stand-alone devices with various keyboards and portable, spatially deformable, waterproof computer keyboards made of plastic with inserted foils on the market

problem

Portable telephones are increasingly being used not only for voice transmission, but also for other forms of telecommunication, e.g. SMS (Short Message Services). These messages are generally entered using the keyboard of a portable telephone. Most of the portable telephones available on the market, despite their compactness, do not offer all functions such as keyboard input. The keyboard of a portable telephone usually consists of 14-18 keys and is very complex to control (pressing a key several times).

The production of a keyboard which, with a reduced size (number of keys and thus dimensions) compared to the standard computer keyboard, is suitable as an additional input device for portable telephones. The aim is to create a compact device (keyboard) which can be worn conveniently on the forearm. The production takes place as a deformable and washable device which

a) either irreversibly sewn into the piece of clothing, whereby a print on the keyboard is not necessary ( FIG.: 1 ). The keyboard layout is painted or woven into the fabric, the keyboard is placed underneath and fixed with a second piece of fabric. The connection cable is kept in a sewn-in pocket with a zipper, whereby a loop and its fixation on the garment achieves strain relief or

b) the keyboard is provided with flanges on the sides ( FIG.: 2 ) and these are attached to the garment (also with flanges) with a zipper or a Velcro fastener and can be removed, but has the key layout printed or burned on, or

c) the keyboard is provided as an independent element with printed or burned-in keyboard layout ( FIG.: 3 ) on the underside with Velcro, which serves for attachment to any item of clothing or directly to the forearm.

Beneficial effect

With the help of a keyboard with about 50 keys, which is sewn into the sleeve of a sweater (sweatshirt) or attached to the sleeve and which is connected to the portable telephone with a cable, the operation (entering SMS) can be made considerably easier and faster.

Claims (1)

An additional keyboard for a portable telephone that can be worn on the body or in a piece of clothing, characterized in that the size of the keyboard is limited so that it can be worn comfortably on the forearm, the keyboard being optionally - is sewn into a piece of clothing. The keyboard layout is printed or woven into the garment; - is inserted into a garment by means of a zip or Velcro fastener so that the keyboard can be temporarily removed for cleaning and maintenance purposes; the keyboard layout can be located either on the keyboard or on the garment; - as a separate element equipped only with a Velcro fastener on the back, can be attached directly to the arm or to any item of clothing, with the keyboard layout attached to the keyboard.
