The invention relates to a folding bed with a bed frame, consisting of a first and second frame part for a mattress topper, in particular a slatted frame, a middle frame part with central foot parts, and end foot parts, wherein the first and second frame parts are hinged to the middle frame part and can be pivoted between a horizontal use position and a folded-up non-use position.

Folding beds of this type are used in the catering and hotel sector, as well as in camping and in private households as emergency and guest beds. Because they are foldable, they take up little space when not in use and can easily be stored in narrow niches, for example. When unfolded, they can be used as full-fledged sleeping accommodations.

Known folding beds have transport rollers on the underside of the central foot sections, on which the folding beds can be easily transported when folded up, i.e. pushed along the floor. These transport rollers also rest on the floor when unfolded, i.e. in the position of use of this folding bed, and support the central foot sections. The end foot sections are pivotally attached to the first and second frame parts and must be manually pivoted into their essentially vertical position of use when unfolding the folding bed.

The disadvantage of these well-known folding beds is that manually swinging out the end foot sections is cumbersome and, in addition, the stability in the position of use often leaves something to be desired.

The invention is based on the object of creating a folding bed of the type mentioned at the beginning, which can be folded up and unfolded in a particularly simple manner and, moreover, has increased stability.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are described in the further claims.

In the folding bed according to the invention, the central foot parts are connected to the end foot parts via longitudinal struts, which are arranged in a parallelogram with these foot parts and the associated frame part, so that

the end foot parts can be pivoted by means of the longitudinal struts when the frame parts are pivoted.

Due to the parallelogram rods, when the folding bed according to the invention is unfolded, the end foot parts are automatically pivoted into the vertically downwards position of use by means of the longitudinal struts. When the folding bed is folded up, the end foot parts are automatically pivoted back into the non-use position by means of the longitudinal struts, in which they lie closely and essentially flush against the first or second frame part and do not protrude beyond them or hardly at all. This eliminates the need to manually pivot the end foot parts. Furthermore, the longitudinal struts give the end foot parts in particular increased stability, thereby increasing the stability of the folding bed overall. Furthermore, it cannot happen that an end foot part is not fully unfolded and accidentally pivots back during use.

It is particularly advantageous if, according to an advantageous embodiment, the longitudinal struts have transport rollers on their end facing the middle part of the frame, which protrude downwards over the central foot parts when the frame parts are folded up, while they are raised off the ground when the frame parts are in the horizontal position. In this embodiment, the transport rollers are no longer attached to the central foot parts, but to the 0 longitudinal struts, so that when the frame parts are folded out,

When the folding bed is in the unfolded position, the central foot sections rest firmly on the floor, while the transport rollers are raised off the floor. This significantly increases the stability of the folding bed when it is unfolded and in use.

The transport rollers are conveniently arranged at the front end of the longitudinal struts.

A design that is easy to manufacture and at the same time stable is achieved if the middle part of the frame has a side part on each side of the folding bed in the form of a square frame, which is formed by two central foot parts, a horizontal upper connecting part and a horizontal lower connecting strut. The connection of the two frame-like side parts is expediently carried out by a cross strut that runs between the two lower horizontal connecting struts.

Advantageously, all essential components of the folding bed are made of wood, especially plywood and solid wood.

As can be seen from Figures 1 to 4, the folding bed has a bed frame 1 which can be unfolded from the folded position shown in Figure 1 into the horizontal use position shown in Figure 3. The bed frame 1 serves to support a mattress (not shown), for example a foam mattress, which is so flexible that it can be bent or folded over by 180' in the middle area without causing damage.

The bed frame 1 has a first, for example upper, frame part 2 and a second, for example lower, frame part 3, which are hinged in their adjacent end areas to a middle frame part 4. The terms "upper" and "lower" mean in the present context that the frame part 2 is considered to be the head part and the frame part 3 is considered to be the foot part. However, frame part 2 can also easily be used as the lower frame part and frame part 3 as the upper frame part.

Each frame part 2, 3 consists of two parallel side cheeks 5, 6, which are connected to one another at their outer end by a transverse front cheek 7, 8. Furthermore, the side cheeks 5, 6 are each connected to a cross brace 9, 10, which is arranged near the middle part 4 of the frame.

Slats 11 of a slatted frame extend in a known manner between the side cheeks 5, 6 and serve to support a mattress (not shown). The slats 11 extend over the entire length of the bed frame 1 and are shown in Figure 4 cut away in the middle area of the bed frame only for reasons of better clarity of the parts underneath. The slats 11 are inserted into plastic plug caps (not shown in detail) which are attached directly to the inside of the side cheeks 5. However, it is also possible to provide a grid as a mattress support instead of a slatted frame.

The frame middle part 4 consists of two side parts 12 in the form of a square frame, which is formed by two central foot parts 13, 14, a horizontal upper connecting part 15 and a horizontal lower connecting strut 16. The left and right side parts 12 are further connected to each other by a cross strut 17, which

extends between the two lower horizontal connecting struts 16.

The two frame parts 2, 3 are pivotably mounted on the frame middle part 4, specifically in the upper region of the central foot parts 13, 14, about horizontal pivot axes 18, 19, so that they can be pivoted between the folded position shown in Figure 1 and the unfolded position shown in Figure 3.

Furthermore, end foot parts 20, 21 are articulatedly attached to the frame parts 2, 3 near their outer ends. The pivot axes are designated by the reference numerals 22, 23.

In their lower end region, the end foot parts 20, 21 are connected via joints 24, 25 to longitudinal struts 26, 27, which are connected at their opposite end via joints 28, 29 to the lower end regions of the central foot parts 13, 14. As can be seen from Figures 1 to 3, the longitudinal struts 26, 27 together with the frame parts 2, 3, the central foot parts 13, 14 and the end foot parts 20, 21 therefore form a parallelogram rod system, by means of which the end foot parts 20, 21 are always held at least largely parallel to the central foot parts 13, 14. The end foot parts 20, 21 therefore lie directly against the side cheeks 5, 6 of the frame parts 2, 3 in the folded-up position of the bed frame 1 shown in Figure 1, while in the unfolded position of the bed frame shown in Figure 3

1 extend downwards at an angle of 90' from the frame parts 2, 3.

Furthermore, transport rollers 30 are attached to the ends of the longitudinal struts 26, 27 which face the middle part 4 of the frame. The longitudinal struts 26, 27 protrude beyond the joints 28, 29 so far that the transport rollers 30, in the folded-up position shown in Figure 1, protrude downwards over the central foot parts 13, 14 so that the bed frame 1 can be rolled on the transport rollers 30. If the bed frame 1 is unfolded, as can be seen from Figures 2 and 3, the lower ends of the longitudinal struts 26, 27 pivot upwards so that the transport rollers 30 no longer protrude downwards over the foot parts 13, 14 so that the foot parts 13, 14 stand firmly on the floor. This position is shown in Figure 3, whereby the transport rollers 30 are not visible in this figure, since they are located behind the connecting strut 16. In the present case, the extent by which the longitudinal struts 26, 27 protrude beyond the joints 28, 29 corresponds essentially to the distance that the joints 28, 29 have from the lower end of the foot parts 13, 14.

In the present embodiment, the entire bed frame 1 is made of wood. However, it is also possible to use other materials, such as metal or plastic.

Claims (6)

1. Folding bed with a bed frame ( 1 ), consisting of - a first and second frame part ( 2 , 3 ) for a mattress support, in particular a slatted frame, - a frame middle part ( 4 ) with central foot parts ( 13 , 14 ), and - end-side foot parts ( 20 , 21 ), wherein the first and second frame parts ( 2 , 3 ) are hinged to the middle part of the frame ( 4 ) and can be pivoted between a horizontal use position and a folded-up non-use position, characterized in that the central foot parts ( 13 , 14 ) are connected to the end foot parts ( 20 , 21 ) via longitudinal struts ( 26 , 27 ) which are arranged in a parallelogram manner with the foot parts ( 13 , 14 ; 20 , 21 ) and the associated frame part ( 2 , 3 ), so that the end foot parts ( 20 , 21 ) are pivoted by means of the longitudinal struts ( 26 , 27 ) when the frame parts ( 2 , 3 ) are pivoted. 2. Folding bed according to claim 1, characterized in that the longitudinal struts ( 26 , 27 ) carry transport rollers ( 30 ) at their end facing the middle frame part ( 4 ), which, when the frame parts ( 2 , 3 ) are folded up, project downwards over the central foot parts ( 13 , 14 ), while they are raised from the ground when the frame parts ( 2 , 3 ) are in the horizontal position. 3. Folding bed according to claim 2, characterized in that the transport rollers ( 30 ) are arranged at the front end of the longitudinal struts ( 26 , 27 ). 4. Folding bed according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the frame middle part ( 4 ) has on each side of the folding bed a side part ( 12 ) in the form of a square frame which is formed by two central foot parts ( 13 , 14 ), a horizontal upper connecting part ( 15 ) and a horizontal lower connecting strut ( 16 ). 5. Folding bed according to claim 4, characterized in that the two frame-like side parts ( 12 ) are connected to one another by a cross strut ( 17 ) which runs between the two lower horizontal connecting struts ( 16 ). 6. Folding bed according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the bed frame ( 1 ) is made of wood.
