The innovation relates to a floor covering element made of cement-bound material or concrete according to the generic term of claim 1 or 3 and to a laying unit comprising a plurality of such elements according to the generic term of claim 6.

The aim of the innovation is to demonstrate a floor covering element or a laying unit with a large number of such floor covering elements with which it is possible to create a paved surface with a visually appealing appearance.

To solve this problem, a floor covering element according to claim 1 or 3 and a laying unit according to the claim are designed.

Further developments of the innovation are the subject of the subclaims. The innovation is explained in more detail below using the figures for an exemplary embodiment. They show:

Fig. 1 shows a simplified representation and a plan view of a laying unit formed by five rows R1 - R5 of a total of twenty-eight paving stones, some of which are of different sizes;

Fig. 2 shows a simplified representation and a top view of one of the stones of the laying unit of Figure 1.

Figure 1 shows a plan view of a laying unit, generally designated 1 in this figure, made of floor slabs or paving stones 2-11, which are made of cement-bound material or concrete and of which one such paving stone is shown as an example in the figure and generally designated 2.

The paving stone shown in Figure 2 has an almost square shape when viewed from above. However, the laying unit 1 also contains paving stones 3-11 which are more or less rectangular when viewed from above.

As shown in Figure 2, the paving stone has a sharp-edged edge 12 on its upper side and in particular also sharp-edged corners 13 at each transition between one of the four flat peripheral sides 14-17 and an adjoining peripheral side. As Figure 2 also shows, the paving stone 2 has molded-on spacers 18 on a total of three peripheral sides, namely on the peripheral sides 14-16, while one peripheral side, namely the peripheral side 17, has no spacer 18.

In Figure 2, B denotes the width, which essentially corresponds to the distance between the two opposite parallel circumferential sides 12 and 17, and L denotes the length of the paving stone 2, which essentially corresponds to the distance between the two opposite parallel circumferential sides 14 and 16. The circumferential sides 14 and 16 lie in the laying unit 1 perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the rows R1 - R5 and, in the case of the paving stones 3-11, form the narrow sides of the respective paving stone with their rectangular shape.

The width B of all paving stones 2-11 is the same. Figure 1 also shows that in the laying unit 1 there are multiple paving stones 2-11 of different sizes, that the number of paving stones 2-11 of different sizes is ten and is therefore smaller than the total number of paving stones in the laying unit 1, which is twenty-eight. Reference is also made to the following table, which shows the type and number of stones in the laying unit 1.

As Figure 1 further shows, the paving stones 2-11 are distributed in the laying unit 1 in such a way that the partial joints 19 of the rows running transversely to the rows R1 - R5 do not form continuous joints, which would not only be visually disturbing, but also

would impair or weaken the bond between stones 2-11 in the laid pavement.

For example, one unit corresponds to approximately 1 cm.

Figure 1 further shows that the individual paving stones 2-11 are distributed in the rows R1 R5 in such a way and that the dimensions of these stones are selected in such a way that an overall rectangular boundary for the laying unit 1 results, i.e. the laying unit 1 has dimensions that correspond to the dimensions of standardized pallets, with the two longer sides 1' and the two shorter sides 1".

Furthermore, the individual stones 2-11 in the rows R1 - R5 are distributed in such a way that the stones on the outer edge 1" have a difference of

have a length L which differs from the length L of the paving stones of adjacent rows, so that when laying or connecting two laying units 1 on the sides 1", the two outer stones of each laying unit, for example the outer stones 11 and 7 of row R2 of the adjoining laying units, can be swapped and in this way continuous joints are avoided even on adjoining laying units 1.

The production of the stones 2-11 takes place in a tool in such a way that the entire laying unit is produced in this tool in one operation. The tool consists of a tool part that forms the mold spaces for the individual stones and a tool part that forms a large number of stamps. The sharp-edged corners 13 are achieved by using heated stamps.

The innovation has been described above using an example embodiment. It goes without saying that numerous changes and modifications are possible without thereby departing from the underlying innovative idea of the innovation.

Claims (10)

1. Floor covering element, in particular floor slab or paving stone, made of cement-bound material with a cuboid-shaped and rectangular body in plan view, which has four peripheral sides ( 14-17 ) adjoining one another at right angles, characterized in that the body of the floor covering element ( 2-11 ) is designed with sharp edges at the corners ( 13 ) and/or at an edge ( 12 ) surrounding the upper side. 2. Floor covering element according to claim 1, characterized in that spacers ( 18 ) are provided on three of the four peripheral sides ( 14-17 ). 3. Floor covering element, in particular floor slab or paving stone, made of cement-bound material with a cuboid-shaped and rectangular body in plan view, which has four peripheral sides ( 14-17 ) adjoining one another at right angles and spacers on peripheral sides, characterized in that the spacers ( 18 ) are provided only on three of the four peripheral sides (14-17). 4. Floor covering element according to claim 3, characterized in that the body of the floor covering element ( 2-11 ) is formed with sharp edges at the corners ( 13 ) and/or at an edge ( 12 ) surrounding the upper side. 5. Floor covering element according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by its production with a mold with a heated stamp. 6. Laying unit in which several floor covering elements ( 2-11 ), in particular floor slabs or paving stones, made of cement-bound material are arranged in several rows (R1-R5) and which is square or rectangular in its outer boundary, characterized in that the laying unit ( 1 ) is formed by floor covering elements ( 2-11 ) which each have the same width (B) perpendicular to the rows (R1-R5) and each have a different length (L) in the direction of the rows (R1-R5), and that the number of different floor covering elements ( 2-11 ) in the laying unit ( 1 ) is smaller than the total number of floor covering elements in the laying unit ( 1 ). 7. Laying unit according to claim 6, characterized in that the total number of floor covering elements in the laying unit is at least seven and a maximum of thirty. 8. Laying unit according to one of claims 6 or 7, characterized in that each floor covering element ( 2-11 ) of the same size is present at most four times in the laying unit ( 1 ). 9. Laying unit according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the outer stones or slabs on two opposite sides (1") of the laying unit ( 1 ) of at least one row (R1-R5) have a length difference which deviates from the length (L) of adjacent slabs or stones of adjacent rows. 10. Laying unit according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it contains the floor covering elements according to the following table,
