Description:

The innovation concerns a cold protection glove that is particularly suitable for golf buggy handles and that is equipped with a mitten. Such cold protection gloves are needed to protect fingers from the cold in low temperatures or when it is windy. This is particularly the case in golf, where players often spend several hours outdoors, which can quickly lead to the hand cooling down. For other activities, such as clearing snow, a glove is also desirable where the body's own heat from the hand is not dissipated via the handle or grip, but can remain in the glove itself.

Accordingly, the innovation has set itself the task of specifying a cold protection glove that can be grasped easily and quickly by both a thinly gloved hand and a bare hand, and the hand can be pulled out of the glove just as easily. The glove is also intended to enable the hand to grasp an object without the fingertips being isolated in the glove, i.e. the fingertips can make contact with the thumb or the ball of the hand. This object is achieved according to the invention in that there is a transverse cavity in the mitten for receiving a handle or stem, that the cavity extends from edge to edge above the lower end of the mitten, in such a way that the fingers in the glove can at least partially enclose the wall of the cavity. This measure ensures that the handle can be threaded into the cavity and a secure grip of the hand is made possible around it. Another advantage is that the glove can remain on the handle because it grips the handle when the hand is pulled out and the handle can be picked up without the glove having to be threaded through again. It also ensures that the handle is protected from cooling down by the wall at low temperatures, i.e. the heat given off by the hand is used to heat up the handle and remains there. A particularly advantageous embodiment of the innovation provides that the top and bottom of the mitten are the same size so that it does not form a thumb section. This has manufacturing advantages on the one hand and makes the cold protection glove equally usable by left- and right-handed people on the other.

An ideal material for mittens is, for example, natural fur. It is important that a thermally insulating, breathable effect is provided, which can of course also be achieved using suitable plastics. For optimal protection against the cold, it is also a good idea to make the material rain-repellent. It is not necessary for the mitten and the wall of the cavity to be made of the same material. For example, it is possible to create the cavity using an insulating plastic pipe, as is known in heating technology, and to guide this plastic pipe across the mitten using suitable means and to fasten it. To make it easy to attach the glove to the handle, it is advantageous if at least one end of the cavity widens outwards in a funnel shape.

A further solution to the problem is that the mitten has a thumb part on which a first connecting means is provided, which can be brought into engagement with a second connecting means, which is arranged at a point on the main hand part of the mitten in such a way that

This variant of the invention makes it possible to use the glove in conjunction with a closed, ring-forming grip, as is common practice in golf. Other embodiments with snap fasteners or similar are also conceivable.

Figure 1 shows a cold protection glove (1) which is essentially bell-shaped. The cold protection glove is provided with an opening (3) at its upper end through which a hand can be inserted into the glove. In its simplest embodiment, the cold protection glove is provided with an outer side (3a) and an inner side (3b). The designation "outer and inner side" (3a, 3b) arises from the direction in which the hand is inserted, so that due to the symmetry of the glove, depending on whether it is used by a left- or right-handed person, the outer side can also become the inner side and vice versa. The two sides (3a, 3b) are sewn together at their left edge (10) and at their right edge (11). At the opposite end of the opening (3) is the lower end (9) of the glove (1).

There is a cavity (7) across the interior of the glove (1). The term "transverse" is based on the direction in which the hand is inserted, which is indicated by an arrow (16). The direction does not necessarily have to be perpendicular to the direction of insertion, but can also be diagonal from edge to edge. This is useful for electric caddies with a handle that extends in the direction of rolling. The cavity (7) extends from the left edge to the right edge of the glove and forms a continuous chamber into which an elongated object, in this case the handle (2) of a golf buggy, can be inserted. The distance between the lower end (9) and the cavity (7) forms a continuous chamber that allows the inserted fingers to enclose the wall (8) of the cavity (7) in such a way that the ball of the hand and thumb can come into contact with the fingers. A continuous chamber is therefore formed between the space for the fingers between the lower edge (9) and the cavity (7) as well as between the remaining space in which the wrist with the ball of the hand and -back.

This fact is best seen in Figure 2, where the bent fingers of the hand are shown schematically.

Figure 3 shows a further embodiment of the invention which allows the glove to remain securely on the handle. For this purpose, the cold protection glove (1) is provided with a thumb part (6), unlike the embodiment in Figures 1 and 2. A first connecting means (12) is attached to the thumb part, which can be brought into engagement with a second connecting means (13). The position of the two connecting means (12, 13) is selected such that a natural bringing of the thumb onto the fingers of the hand leads to the said connection. Suitable connecting means are those which can be released again without further operation, such as Velcro or magnetic fasteners or snap fasteners.

Figure 5 shows a supplement to the description of Figures 1 and 3. This solution allows the glove (1) to be used for both an open handle (2), where the glove has to be inserted from the side, and a closed handle (2), where the glove has to be pulled over the handle bar of the handle. The handle is enclosed by the wall of the transverse cavity (7) being open on the side towards the lower end (9) and being closed again with a connecting means (14, 15) so that it can adhere tightly to the handle. The press buttons (18) at the lower end (9) of the cold glove (1) only need to be pressed when it is first fitted. As with the previous embodiment, it can remain on the handle after the press buttons (18) have been pulled over and closed again, so that only the hand needs to be inserted and removed.
