The present invention relates to a novel seating/reclining furniture.

Seating furniture in the sense of chairs, armchairs, sofas and the like is generally known. Reclining furniture includes beds and loungers. In the transition area between seating and reclining furniture there are so-called chaise longues. The furniture known from the state of the art has the disadvantage of being specially manufactured for the respective area of application, and only a few developments are known that provide for conversion. For example, it is known that sofas can be converted into a bed using appropriate folding mechanisms. Reclining armchairs are also known that can be put into two different application states. However, no furniture is known that can be converted as desired depending on the application and still offers good properties in the respective application.

Based on this prior art, the present invention is based on the object of providing a piece of furniture which can be used as a seat or reclining piece of furniture, can variably assume different transformation states and can nevertheless be manufactured industrially.

To solve this problem, the invention proposes a piece of seating/reclining furniture consisting of a substantially tubular material tube, a volume-filling padding inserted into the tube and at least one flexible element arranged in the padding.

Today, the living room or the living/dining area is mainly the representative area of the private living space. When invited, the home becomes a stage, and the furnishings accordingly influence the behavior and the course of the meeting. The guests are exposed to the environment, they have to adapt to the circumstances. The more flexible the furnishings are, the easier it is for different people to feel comfortable. The different habits, weights and sizes of people must be taken into account without creating a mess in the furnishings.

The translation of the word mobilis, from which furniture is derived, means movable, so furniture is the movable part of the home. But the furniture itself should also be movable and adaptable.

The invention provides a long, sausage-like structure which has a covered, padded outer shell and a core, whereby the core allows the furniture to be bent in almost any way, but gives the furniture sufficient dimensional stability when bent. Such a piece of furniture can be rolled up like a snail, for example, to provide comfortable seating. The furniture can also be bent in one plane, for example into a U-shape, to make it comfortable to lie on. There are any number of variants in between, which even make the furniture suitable for orthopedic or even therapeutic purposes. For example, it is easy to convert the furniture into a bench for the lower legs or as a backbend.

The material hose can be made of one piece or several elements. By using zippers, the material hose can be made replaceable, washable and the like. The material hose can be made entirely or partially from textile, leather or other suitable materials. The material hose preferably has a circular diameter.

Foam is the preferred material for padding, but all other commonly used poster materials, especially latex, can be used individually or in any combination. For example, a foam tube can be made from foams of different hardnesses and then provided with a padding layer. The padding should preferably fill the material tube tightly. The areas of different hardness can be distributed in such a way that they produce the most favorable properties in the appropriate places for a range of application variations.

A copper wire, a spiral or drill element or another flexible, elongated element is preferably considered as the core element, which can be inserted into the padding coaxially to the material hose, for example. The core element can also consist of several parts, for example it can be applied in a net-like manner directly surrounding the padding between the material hose and the padding. Plastics with corresponding bending and shape-stabilizing properties can also be used without any problem, as can metal spirals and the like.

The invention provides an industrially manufactured, easy-to-handle seating/reclining furniture with a wide range of variations.

According to the invention, the furniture is supplemented by flat cushions and blankets. These are preferably filled with wool balls and can have covers made of velvet, new wool and the like, which materials are also adapted to the materials of the material tube. This creates an ensemble of cushions according to the invention, possibly in the form of a large cover and the flexible seat or backrest part. This makes it possible to put together a large number of lying and sitting variants. Furthermore, according to the invention, a belt element is provided to fix the seat or backrest part in different positions and thus support the core.

With the furniture according to the invention, the weight and size of the user are almost irrelevant. In particular, the individual covers can be designed to be easy to clean or can be selected with regard to allergies and the like.

In addition to the described shape-stabilizing belt and, if necessary, further tensioning elements, the invention provides that belt eyelets or handle eyelets are arranged on the material hose in order to ensure easy handling of the seating/reclining furniture.

In the figures, the seating furniture according to the invention is shown individually or in the furniture ensemble according to the invention in various arrangement examples.

According to Fig. 1, the seating/reclining furniture 1 consists of a tubular material tube which is filled with padding and has a flexible but dimensional stability-giving core.

According to Fig. 2, the seating/reclining furniture 1 is supplemented by a large flat cover element 2 and cushions 3. It is arranged in a U-shape on the cover element 2, which can, for example, have a wool ball filling with a cover. The cushions can also be designed accordingly. Materials can be velvet, new wool, cotton, leather and the like. The covers of the seating/reclining furniture and the covers 2 and cushions 3 belonging to the ensemble can be coordinated with one another.

According to Fig. 1, the furniture is arranged in a spiral shape and thus provides a place to sit. According to Fig. 2, the furniture 1 is arranged in a circle and placed on the blanket 2. The cushions 3 and 4 thus represent places to sit.

According to Fig. 5, the arrangement of the hose element 1 creates a separate arrangement of the cushions 3 and 4 on the ceiling 2.

According to Fig. 6, a so-called vis-à-vis arrangement is shown.

Fig. 7 shows a seating corner-like arrangement, Fig. 8 shows the arrangement of the tube element 1 as a backrest-like separation between the cushions 3 and 4 on the ceiling 2.

According to Fig. 9, the hose element 1 is arranged in a spiral shape and has bean bag properties.

According to Fig. 10, a bed is formed from the tube element by a narrow U-shape, completed by the cushion 3 and the seat cushion 4 on the blanket 2.

Finally, Fig. 11 shows another possible arrangement of the ensemble.

Claims (14)

1. Seating/reclining furniture consisting of a substantially tubular material tube, a volume-filling padding inserted into the latter and at least one flexible core element arranged in the padding, which is stiff enough to give the furniture dimensional stability when bent with the core. 2. Furniture according to claim 1, characterized in that the material tube is at least partially made of textile material. 3. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the material tube is at least partially made of leather. 4. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the material hose is formed in one piece. 5. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the material hose is closed at the end. 6. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the material hose has a substantially circular cross-section. 7. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the upholstery is at least partially made of foam. 8. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the upholstery is composed of materials of different hardness. 9. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the padding is inserted into the material tube so as to fill it tightly. 10. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the core element comprises a copper wire. 11. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the core element is introduced substantially coaxially from the material tube into the upholstery. 12. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the core element is formed by several profile elements running over the length of the furniture. 13. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it is supplemented by flat upholstery elements. 14. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the upholstery at least partially comprises wool ball fillings.
