Die vorbeschriebenen Schwibbogen haben ferner den Nachteil, dass die Szene regelmäßig aus Sperrholz mit Dicken unter 5 mm oder gar Furnierblättern erzeugt wird. Diese Werkstoffwahl schränkt nicht nur die zu gestaltenden Motive erheblich ein. Vielmehr fehlt solchen Schwibbogen auch jegliche Tiefenwirkung.
