The invention relates to a household towel, e.g. a napkin with a fastening device, e.g. on a carrying surface or on an item of clothing of the person using the napkin.

When using household towels or napkins, it often happens that hanging them on a hook causes problems, or that the napkin slips or even falls to the floor due to the movement of the person using the napkin. Tuck the edge of the napkin into the waistband of a skirt or trouser or into the button panel of a blouse or shirt is considered improper. The use of napkin holders, which are known in many different forms, requires that the user also carries them with them. They also generally require a relatively complicated fastening process.

There are also napkins that have a buttonhole built into them. These napkins can then be easily attached to a button on the clothing of the person using the napkin. However, this is only easy if the size of the button and buttonhole match.

The invention was based on the task of creating a simple, safe and, above all, unobtrusive fastening option for household towels of all kinds, but especially for napkins.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the fastening device is permanently incorporated into the household towel or napkin. In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the fastening device can consist of elements of a Velcro

closure.es. exist.- Another advantageous embodiment consists in the use of magnetic elements. It is practical to incorporate the Velcro or magnetic elements directly into the edge of the household towel or napkin. The edges of household towels or napkins are usually sewn, hemmed, etc. and it is advisable to incorporate the fastening elements directly into these edges. The elements of the fastening device (i.e. the two parts of a Velcro fastener or the elements of a magnet) should ideally be arranged at such a distance from one another on the edge of a napkin that they can be easily attached to the clothing of the person using the napkin. Household towels only need to have a magnet or part of a Velcro fastener. They can then simply be hung on a magnetic-metal carrier or the counter element of a Velcro fastener.

Embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing. The features of the invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing.

Figure 1 shows a part of a napkin with magnetic elements incorporated into the edge as a fastening device;

Figure 2 shows a part of a napkin with elements of a Velcro fastener arranged in its edge area as a fastening device.

Figure 1 shows a corner of a napkin 1 made of a textile fabric. The edge 2 of the napkin 1 is sewn over twice (seams 3). The elements 41 and 42 (i.e. positive and negative poles) of a magnet are incorporated into this edge 2 formed by sewing and fixed in this position as a fastening device 4. By folding the corner of this napkin 1 and placing it on top of one another,

By placing the magnetic elements 41 and 42 and e.g. embracing a part of a garment in this position, a relative fastening of the napkin can be achieved.

Figure 2 also shows a corner of a napkin 5. Here too, the edge 6 is made double or multi-layered by sewing (seams 7). The elements 81 or 82 of a Velcro fastener are sewn or glued or similar as a fastening device 8 onto the edge 6 reinforced in this way or in the area of the edge of the napkin 5. The napkin 5 is fastened during use in the same way as described for Figure 1.

It is easy to see that other design options for this type of fastening structure for a napkin are conceivable. The same applies to other household towels. Modern technology and modern materials make it possible for both magnetic elements and Velcro fasteners to easily withstand the high demands of frequent cleaning.

Claims (6)

1. Household towel, e.g. napkin with a fastening device, e.g. on a carrying surface or on an item of clothing of the person using the napkin, characterized in that the fastening device ( 4 , 8 ) is exclusively and directly incorporated in the household towel or in the napkin ( 1 , 5 ) in an inseparable manner. 2. Household towel, e.g. napkin according to claim 1, characterized in that the fastening device ( 8 ) consists of elements ( 81 and 82 ) of a Velcro fastener. 3. Household towel, e.g. napkin according to claim 1, characterized in that the fastening device ( 4 ) are magnetic elements ( 41 , 42 ). 4. Household towel, e.g. napkin according to claim 2 or claim 3, characterized in that the elements ( 41 , 42 , 81 , 82 ) are incorporated in the edge ( 2 , 6 ) of the napkin ( 1 , 5 ). 5. Household towel, e.g. napkin according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the distances between the elements ( 41 or 81 ) and the elements interacting with them ( 42 or 82 ) are selected so that an easy and secure attachment to a hook or to an article of clothing of the person using the napkin can take place. 6. Household towel according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that only one magnetic element or only one element of a Velcro fastener is incorporated into the towel.
