Walking aid

The invention relates to walking aids for disabled persons of the type corresponding to the preamble of claim 1.
Such a walking aid is widely known from practice and can be purchased from specialist retailers.

It consists of a vertically arranged, lightweight tube (1) which has, among other things, a specially designed non-slip plug (2) at the base. To compensate for different body sizes, the vertical tube (1) is usually adjustable in length. At the upper end of the tube (1) there is a support or grab handle (3) at almost a right angle, the profile of which is shaped to fit the hand. In conjunction with this handle (3), a specially designed support element (4) is attached to the tube (1), consisting of a stem (4"), rib (4 ^l ) and half-shell (5) for the purpose of guiding and supporting a person's forearm. There are also designs in which the support element (4) consists of a continued angled tube (1) and half-shell (5). The tube (1) is usually made of steel or aluminum, while in newer designs the so-called support element (4) is made of durable plastic.

The handle (3) of the support element is reinforced by the cast-in upper end of the tube (1).

Such a walking aid is of great value to the disabled person. It gives them almost unlimited freedom of movement. The problem that has not yet been solved arises when the disabled person does not need the walking aid and wants to get rid of it temporarily. To do this, they must put the walking aid down or put it down. Due to the unbalanced and complicated shape of the walking aid, it cannot be set up, leaned or hung up. The invention solves this problem by giving each walking aid a shape that allows it to stand independently. The figures shown are exemplary embodiments, the form of which can be changed as desired without, however, deviating from the protection claims.

Particular emphasis must be placed on rounding off corners and edges that can cause additional hindrance to the disabled person. The bar on the support element has therefore been placed in the space behind the forearm that allows for free movement.

This creates a walking aid that can be turned upside down to rest and can be picked up again quickly and easily by the disabled person. The space required when stored is minimal.

Claims (13)

1. Walking aid for supporting the body weight of people who have a walking disability, comprising a supporting vertically arranged tube ( 1 ) which is equipped with a non-slip plug ( 2 ) at the foot point, a handle ( 3 ) worked at the person's support height at an approximate right angle to the tube ( 1 ) and a support element ( 4 ) made of tube, plastic or aluminum, which is slightly angled in the upper extension of the supporting tube ( 1 ) above the handle ( 3 ), formed from a stem ( 4 "), rib ( 4 ') and half-shell ( 5 ), for the purpose of guiding and supporting the forearm of a person, characterized in that at least one web ( 6 ) is attached in the upper part of the support element ( 4 ) in the opposite direction to the handle ( 3 ). 2. Walking aid according to claim 1, characterized in that at least one web ( 6 ) exceeds the height of the upper edge of the flat half-shell ( 5 ). 3. Walking aid according to claim 1 + 2, characterized in that when the walking aid is in a balanced and thus almost vertical position, the overhang ( 6 ') of the web ( 6 ) reaches an approximate horizontal height with the two ends ( 5 ') of the half-shell ( 5 ). 4. Walking aid according to claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the formation of the web ( 6 ) with the peak ( 6 ') takes place from the extension of the reinforcing rib ( 4 ') of the support element ( 4 ). 5. Walking aid according to claim 2 to 4, characterized in that the web ( 6 ) has a hole ( 7 ) of at least 6 mm diameter. 6. Walking aid according to claim 1 and 2, characterized in that a transverse web ( 8 ) is arranged at a right angle to the web ( 6 ) or the webs. 7. Walking aid according to claim 6, characterized in that this crossbar ( 8 ) is at least 30 mm and a maximum of 100 mm wide. 8. Walking aid according to claim 3 and 8, characterized in that the ends ( 8 ') of the crossbar ( 8 ) are raised and reach the height according to claim 3. 9. Walking aid according to claims 1 to 8, characterized in that a mountable web part ( 9 ) with a peak according to claim 3 is fastened to the support element ( 4 ). 10. Walking aid according to claim 9, characterized in that this web part is made of plastic or aluminum. 11. Walking aid according to claims 1-8, characterized in that the web ( 6 ) is formed in one casting with the support element ( 4 ). 12. Walking aid according to claim 1, characterized in that the upper edge of the half-shell ( 5 ) has an oblique course parallel to the standing plane of the walking aid in an approximately vertical position. 13. Walking aid according to claim 12, characterized in that at the two ends of the half-shell ( 5 ) and in the middle of the semicircle of the half-shell ( 5 ) small humps ( 5 ') ( 6 ') are placed as high points.
