Writing instrument and associated writing element

The invention relates to a writing instrument according to the preamble of claim 1 and a writing element according to the preamble of claim 8.

For example, the following types of writing instruments are known in the state of the art:

I. The pen (lead pencils such as pencils, wooden crayons, colored pencils, felt-tip pens, wax crayons, chalk, etc.): Writing is done using continuous leads made of lead, chalk, hardened color pigment mixtures or felt soaked in liquid color solution.

II. The nib (writing pen, fountain pen with nib, etc.): The nib serves as a carrier and transmitter of a writing fluid (ink, color fluid). Today, nibs are made of a wide variety of materials, from the natural feather of a bird to the plastic feather and the metal feather (steel, precious metals, various alloys).

The type, texture and shape of the pen tip determines the writing.

III. The ballpoint pen: The rounded tip of the ballpoint pen absorbs a viscous liquid, which is transported to the spherical tip with the help of a sleeve.

Depending on the diameter of the rounded tip and the viscosity of the liquid, different line thicknesses or lines result.

Writing consists of individual characters that are logically linked together to convey information. Characters consist of connected or combined lines. The types of writing instruments listed produce a continuous line during the writing process.

There are now countless types of fonts and characters that differ in height, angle, curves, arrangement, with and without serifs (-» defined computer fonts).

In contrast, the writing instrument no longer serves only to produce writing as a transmitter of information, but also reinforces and supports a statement, and it also serves as a decoration and/or eye-catcher.

It was precisely this point that was decisive for the development of a new type of writing instrument, with the writing as a carrier of a structure and/or decoration in itself.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the object of creating a ballpoint pen that produces an alternative, structured font.

This problem is solved with the features listed in claims 1 and 8.

The invention ensures that the writing instrument does not produce a continuous line, but rather creates a structured font, i.e. the font produced by the writing instrument carries a structure and/or decoration in itself. The new thing about this writing instrument is the structured writing element and the structured font it produces. The lines produced by this device are not continuous lines, but interrupted lines designed with patterns and/or structures.

An advantageous embodiment of the invention is specified in claim 7.

The further development according to claim 7 for the application of the writing instrument enables the interchangeability of the structured writing element and thus a change and modification of different structures and/or decorations of the writing that can be produced thereby.

The writing instrument works in the same way as a pen with a ballpoint pen.

The writing element (2) (ball) should be mounted in a writing holder (3) provided with a holder (10) in such a way that it can rotate in all directions and is supplied with a colored liquid which is located in a refill (4) inside the writing holder. However, the writing element (2) can also be supplied with or moistened with a colored liquid externally, e.g. with the help of a stamp pad.

The writing element (2) can also be part of the refill (4).

The newly developed writing instrument differs in that the writing element (2) does not have a smooth structure, but rather a patterned and/or surface structure (8). The writing element (2) is also preferably of a larger diameter than in conventional ballpoint pens so that the structure of the line to be created is clearly shown.

The bearing (l) of the writing element (2) can be designed in such a way that the writing element (2) is replaceable. The writing holder (3) can be divisible by means of a screw thread^) or a plug/clip technique (6) in order to replace the writing element (2). Or the bearing (l) can be elastically deformable (7) in order to replace the writing element (2).

Numerous types of surface structure(8) and/or pattern(8) of the writing element(2) can be used.

The surface structure (8) formed by recesses and the remaining surface (9) can also be reversed. This means that the surface structure (8) is formed by recessing the remaining surface (9). In both cases, it is important to ensure that the writing element (2) can still rotate as smoothly as possible in the bearing (l) of the writing holder (3). The writing element (2) can be hollow or solid on the inside.

Claims (10)

1. Writing instrument with a holder ( 10 ) for a loosely mounted writing element ( 2 ) which can be wetted with a writing fluid, characterized in that the writing element is structured at least on the surface ( 8 ), wherein the remaining surface ( 9 ) of the writing element ( 2 ) which remains despite the structure can be wetted with the writing fluid. 2. Writing instrument according to claim 1, characterized in that the spherical writing element ( 2 ) is mounted like the ball of a ballpoint pen. 3. Writing instrument according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the writing fluid is supplied from a writing lead ( 4 ), wherein the writing element ( 2 ) is preferably a component of the writing lead. 4. Writing instrument according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the writing fluid is supplied externally (e.g. by means of an ink pad). 5. Writing instrument according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the spherical writing element ( 2 ) is substantially hollow. 6. Writing instrument according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the spherical writing element ( 2 ) is substantially completely filled and/or solid and that the surface structure ( 8 ) is formed by recesses. 7. Writing instrument according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the bearing ( 1 ) is divisible and/or elastically deformable for replacing the writing element ( 2 ). 8. Writing element for use in a writing instrument according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the spherical writing element ( 2 ) is structured at least on the surface ( 8 ), wherein the remaining surface ( 9 ) of the writing element which remains despite the structure can be wetted with the writing fluid. 9. Writing element according to claim 8, characterized in that the spherical writing element ( 2 ) is substantially hollow. 10. Writing element according to claim 8 or 9, characterized in that the spherical writing element ( 2 ) is substantially completely filled and/or solid and that the surface structure ( 8 ) is formed by recesses.
