Stair renovation steps

Prefabricated stair renovation steps are landing steps (1) made of
14 mm thick and glued in three layers) with at least 4 solid wood supports (12) and firmly glued tread (3) made of the same wood on the front edge, which simultaneously covers the old step edge and provides safety when walking. The tread (3) is designed in such a way that it protrudes over the lower edge of the old step in order to cover the possible fitting joint (11) of the upper edge of the riser board (5).

With renovation steps made in this way, the landings of landing stairs can also be covered with the same material. The rear edge (9) of the so-called exit step (4) is provided with a groove (9) or tongue. The planks (6) of the prefabricated parquet are then glued into this groove. Since the precise fitting of these renovation steps takes a certain amount of time, cardboard templates are created when measuring. These are made of thin cardboard and can therefore be easily cut with scissors or a sharp knife. The renovation steps are then manufactured precisely in the factory using these templates.

Renovation steps of the usual design usually have a front edge made of metal or plastic, with a groove for holding laminate or parquet strips, which are screwed directly onto the old step edge. There is therefore no firm connection with the laminate or parquet flooring. (In addition, metal or plastic is a foreign body on an old wooden staircase).

With some old staircases it is necessary to saw off the protruding front edges of the old stair treads so that the support step does not protrude over the stair stringer.

Thanks to the factory surface treatment, the stairs to be renovated can be used immediately and no one will be bothered by any odors.
