Dishwashers known on the market have at least one dish basket for placing the dishes to be cleaned. These dish baskets are usually made of wire base frames made of steel wire. Because of the risk of corrosion from the chemicals used in dishwashers, they are coated with a corrosion protection made of organic polymers, for example a plastic coating is used, which is usually applied using a coating process, e.g. described in DE-OS 20 50 905. The color of the coating varies depending on the design of the machine equipped with the baskets. It is created by adding commercially available pigments to the plastic coating. Particularly smooth surfaces are preferred and therefore generally used, as consumers assume that no residual contaminants will adhere to these surfaces. At the end of the washing process, only drops remain at the contact points where the washed dishes rest on the dish basket, and these are difficult to evaporate. This means that the dishes remain wet. In order to evaporate these drops and dry the dishes quickly, evaporation energy is necessary, which affects the power consumption.

The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a dish rack with a surface that draws the water droplets away from the contact points by distributing them evenly as a film over the entire coated surface, thus ensuring that the water evaporates quickly with little heat input (residual heat). This object is achieved by providing the dish rack with a plastic coating that has an average roughness R _z of > 5 μηι and yet feels smooth. The roughness depth was measured in accordance with DIN 4768 using the RM 600 roughness depth measuring device from Rodenstock. During this measurement, the surface is scanned with a laser beam. Mechanical scanners, e.g. the Perthometer M4P, show values that are too low.

The dish basket according to the invention creates a dish basket in a simple manner which ensures that the water running off the dishes, which in conventional baskets collects in the form of drops at the contact points between the basket and the dishes, is distributed over the basket surface and thus evaporates more quickly.

The dishwasher baskets each consist of a wire frame coated with plastic, whereby according to the invention the wire base frame of the dish basket is made of conventional structural steel and covered with a layer that distributes water in the manner described and which essentially consists of a plastic - essentially polyamide 11 or polyamide 12 - and is applied by means of a plastic coating process. The dish basket according to the invention creates a basket for a dishwasher in a simple manner which improves the overall visual impression of an appliance and, thanks to the described property, ensures that the dishes are dried without any significant energy input and which can be manufactured without additional effort.

1. Dishwasher basket with a plastic-coated wire base frame,

that the base frame of the dish basket is made of standard structural steel and is coated with a layer that distributes the water required for washing in a thin film over the surface. 2. Crockery basket according to claim 1, characterized in that the plastic layer has a surface roughness of R _Z ≥ 5 µm. 3. Dish basket according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the coating spreads adhering water and thus allows it to evaporate more quickly. 4.
