2. cushioning means comprising at least one soft cushion ( 22 ) attached to the periphery of the viewing surface ( 21 ) and adapted to be applied to the face of the wearer, the soft cushion ( 22 ) having at least one groove for receiving and supporting the edge of the viewing surface ( 21 ) therein; and

2. Fastening means ( 23 ) provided at opposite ends of the eye protection means for securing the eye protection means to the wearer's head.

2. Safety goggles according to claim 1, characterized in that the soft pad ( 22 ) is fixed in the notch ( 24 ) of the lower edge of the viewing surface ( 21 ).

3. Safety goggles according to claim 1, characterized in that the padding means comprise two soft pads ( 22 ) which are arranged in the region of the notch ( 24 ) and in the region of the concave curvature ( 25 ) of the lower and upper edges of the viewing surface ( 21 ).

Safety goggles according to claim 1, characterized in that the padding means comprise three soft pads ( 22 ), one of which is attached in the region of the concave curvature ( 25 ) of the upper edge of the viewing surface ( 21 ), the other two being attached to the lower edge of the viewing surface ( 21 ) on opposite sides of the notch ( 24 ).

5. Safety goggles according to claim 1, characterized in that the padding means comprise two soft pads ( 22 ) which are attached to the upper and lower edges of the viewing surface ( 21 ), respectively, preferably extending substantially along the entire respective edge.

6. Safety goggles according to claim 1, characterized in that the soft padding ( 22 ) forms a closed loop which surrounds the edge of the viewing surface ( 21 ).

Safety goggles according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the at least one soft pad ( 22 ) comprises two grooves for receiving two viewing surfaces ( 21 , 26 ), wherein these viewing surfaces ( 21 , 26 ) are preferably arranged one behind the other in the direction of view of the wearer.

8. Safety goggles according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that two outwardly extending flanges ( 27) are provided on the at least one soft pad (22 ) , which form a space ( 28 ) between them for receiving and holding a piece of fabric.

9. Safety goggles according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the fastening means ( 23 ) comprise an elastic strip which is fastened by its two ends to opposite ends of the viewing surface ( 21 , 26 ).

10. Safety goggles according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the fastening means ( 23 ) comprise a pair of temples which are attached to opposite ends of the viewing surface ( 21 , 26 ) for gripping the ears of the wearer.

11. Safety goggles according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the fastening means ( 23 ) comprise a piece of fabric which can at least partially cover the wearer's face.
