Description
BeschreibungDescription
The "fire stick" is often used as a source of heat for lumberjacks' snacks in the Luisenburg Forest of the Wunsiedel Municipal Forestry Administration. The burning slits cut in a cross shape from above with a chainsaw and the four air slits sawn into the trunk axis below allow the fire to burn quickly in the center. The four air slits at the bottom serve as a draft, comparable to a conventional stove that draws in its combustion air from below and also has a good exhaust through the stove pipe. I do not consider this design to be a direct invention. I first saw this shape in a similar design at a Scandinavian forestry machinery trade fair.
I was immediately impressed by this simple fire source, which also works well with "wet", freshly cut wood (preferably spruce).
As a party stove or, as I used it as a New Year's Eve stove, this heat or light source can also be safely used as a campfire when fishing in the pond.
At a garden party, an additional idea can bring a lot of entertainment and fun. For example, the base of the upside-down "Fichtelgebirgsofen" can be used at any time as a "nail stick" or a very useful "wood chopping block". However, this additional use can only happen before the "Fichtelgebirgsofen" is lit.
