Dies ist insbesondere dann unangenehm, wenn es sich z. B. um die Abdichtung von Fugen bei Fassaden^_PanelSMjetcr handelt. Durch diese Erscheinung zeigen sieh unschöne Verfärbungen. Weiterhin besteht die Gefahr des Nachlassens des Diehtungseffektes, wodurch z. B. der Eintritt von Regenwasser bei sedimentativen Fassaden leicht erfolgen kann. Auch die Herstellung ist umständlieh und teuer, da es notwendig ist, eine Emulsion oder Lösung des Bitumens zu erzeugen und dann den Schaumstoff mit dieser zu tränken, worauf sieh das ebenfalls aufwendige Abtrocknen anzuschließen hat.In a known material of this type, an emulsion or solution of asphalt bitumen is used for impregnation, the elastic material being dipped into the emulsion or the solution of this natural product and then pressed between rollers and dried. Man kann somit entweder ein einheitliches schmelzbares Harz oder auch ein Gemisch solcher Harze verwenden, wobei man sich in dieser Hinsieht danach zu richten hat, bei welcher Temperatur der Dichtungsstreifen beständig sein soll. Es gibt schmelzbare Harze der in Betracht kommenden Art, die z. B. bei 15° G schmelzen. Solche Harze würden zur Tränk»ung des Dichtungsmaterials nur bei besonders niedrigen Temperaturen in Betracht kommen. Bei höheren Temperaturen würde es vielfach zweckmäßig sein, ein Gemisch verschiedener Harze zu benutzen, wobei man durch die Wahl der Harze und durch die prozentuale Zusammensetzung des Gemisches den jeweils gewünschten Schmelzpunkt einstellen kann. Insbesondere ist es unverseifbar, was bei der Errichtung von Gebäuden von besonderer Bedeutung ist, da dort mit Zement und Kalkmörtel gearbeitet wird. Die Abdichtungsraittel gemäß der Neuerung sind ferner stark wasserabweisend und haften gut auf glatten Flächen jeder Art, insbesondere auch auf solchen aus Eisen oder Nichteisenmetallen.
