Den Haupttheil der auf beiliegender Zeichnung dargestellten Waschmaschine bildet die aus Holz construirte Trommel T; dieselbe besitzt einen elliptischen Querschnitt und ist im Innern mit zwei parallel zur Trommelachse liegenden, dicht an den Trommelumfang anschliefsenden Hebebrettern b\ b2 versehen, welche bei der Rotation der Trommel um eine horizontale Achse die in ihr befindliche Wäsche heben, um sie dann bei geeigneter Stellung wieder herabfallen zu lassen. Die herabfallenden Wäschestücke werden hierdurch gestaucht . und die durch kochende Seifenaufiösung gelösten Unreinlichkeiten leicht und sicher entr fernt.
