Abstract

A rainwater down pipe has an integrated flap valve. This is opened automatically when the water level in the barrel drops and closed when the water has reached max. level. The flap is pressed upwards and closed by a float (2) integrated in a standpipe (1) in the barrel. The float movement is transmitted to the valve flap via rods (5) The water level in the standpipe is regulated by a valve (3) at the bottom.

Description

The invention relates to a device according to the preamble of claim 1.

Numerous hobby gardeners and many other rainwater users are often present the problem of closing the flap of your downpipe at the right moment, namely when the adjacent rain barrel threatens to overflow. It is the half close to closing the flap automatically if necessary.

There are some control systems, but in which a special use in the Downpipe must be installed. This understandably requires an order extensive and costly conversion of the downpipe. Some of these are Systems can only be used with an appropriately coupled rain barrel.

The object of the invention is to demonstrate how a simple, inexpensive and there to still versatile device for automatic closing and opening the rain flap can be made on a downpipe.

This object is achieved by a device with the features of claim 1 solved.

The invention is independent of the existing rain barrel, the downpipe and the type of rain flap used and the position of the flap in the right downpipe. Also affect neither the diameter nor the material properties of the Downpipe the use of the invention in any way. The easy installation in  the rain barrel and on the flap of the downpipe also allow at any time the use or elimination of the system. This is especially true in the winter months significant.

Beispielbeschreibung der PatentanmeldungExample description of the patent application

Exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing ( FIG. 1) and are described in more detail below.

Fig. 1 Eine Seitenansicht des Regenüberlaufschutzes für Regentonnen. Fig. 1 is a side view of the rain overflow protection for rain barrels.

As shown in Fig. 1, it is a device in which in the filled state of the rain barrel by a float ( 2 ), the rain flap is pressed ge up and closed. So that the float ( 2 ) does not partially close the flap at any height of the water, it is housed in a standpipe ( 1 ). This is located below the rain flap. The water only enters this tube from above when the desired maximum water level in the rain barrel has been reached. The standpipe is connected to the water of the rain barrel by a valve ( 3 ). This only opens when the water pressure in the standpipe is greater than or equal to the water pressure in the rain barrel. The valve ( 3 ) thus fulfills two important tasks:

When the water level in the rain barrel rises, it closes and thus prevents it the penetration of water into the standpipe.
When the water level in the rain barrel falls, it opens and allows the water to flow out of the standpipe ( 1 ).

This makes a sensible automatism for closing and opening the rain flap pe guaranteed.
