Abstract

Mixed polyethylene and polyamide waste, e.g. film, containing at least 5% of one component, is processed as usual by chopping and compaction. The mixture is extruded in an inert atmosphere at 180-250 deg C to obtain a homogenous product, which is then granulated for use in normal thermoplastic processing applications.

Description

The invention relates to a method for online processing of used plastics Polyamide and polyethylene waste by treating waste in the usual way such as crushing, compacting and extrusion, which in particular Single screw and twin screw extruders with common screw cones figurations can be performed.

The physical combination of polyolefins (PO) / polyethylene (PE) and polyamides (PA) is to convert into a homogeneous regranulate, the individual components in non-proportionate right distribution the essential properties of the resulting new materials determine.

The previously known methods and devices either change technologically or through modifications using additives physically blended polymers, however not their groups.

The methods described in the literature either show the reprocessing of pure products, such as PA or PE (DE 44 30 663 A1), (OS 26 07 345 polyester polymers) and in the patent DE 41 22 382 processing of incompatible plastics described by extrusion, and the mixtures prepared therefrom and their Use.

Here, recycling of plastics from industrial, household and Commercial waste can be used.

In der Untersuchung zu PE-PA Verbundfolienresten - Eigenschaften und Grenzen der Verwertbarkeit (Zeitschrift, Kunststoff Nr. 83, 1993/5,Karl Hanser-Verlag, München 1993, von R.-E. Grützner, R. Gärtner, Rudolstadt-Schwarza u. H.-G. In the investigation of PE-PA composite film residues - properties and limits of Usability (magazine, plastic No. 83, 1993/5, Karl Hanser-Verlag, Munich 1993, by R.-E. Grützner, R. Gärtner, Rudolstadt-Schwarza u. H.-G. Hock, Wiesbaden) will address the problems of processing mixed materials when combining the two guided plastics in mixing ratios of 70% PE and 30% PA 6 described, in particular the appearance of the yellow to brown discoloration of the Products with different elastic strands and with a proportion of thermosetting Glue an unstable barrel with strand breaks and additional deposits on the Spinning nozzle were found.

It can be seen from this that the processing of polyamide and polyethylene recycling materials pose fundamental problems that can be Represent changes in the morphological structure and the UV and thermal stability. Also the solution offered for the first time in DE 41 22 382, incompatible plastics According to this variant, processing with one another is only possible in such a way that the Mixing takes place in two parts, the first part consisting of uniform material and the second part is subjected to further processing which leads to a surface enlargement and modification of the components must result, followed by Merging both parts into a mixture. This is essentially uniform distributed so that a more uniform product can result from the even distribution.

The aim of the invention is to take a high proportion of components of PE and PN the lower limit for each share is 5%, always a homogeneous and to produce a uniform product that can be used without restrictions. The physical bond PE / PA is to be converted into a homogeneous regranulate, whereby the individual components in a non-proportionate distribution the final properties of the new Determine materials.

The method described is intended to have a homogeneous distribution of the starting polymers itself, with improved properties of the PE component, as well as the avoidance of Combine thermal degradation processes of the PA component.

According to the invention the object is achieved in that the starting materials PE u. PN that already represent a physical network, crushed and com in the usual way be compacted and then extruded under an inert atmosphere. It is irrelevant whether additives or modifiers were or are used.

According to the invention, the method works with a composition of more than 5% PA or PE portion treated in the above manner and under an inert atmosphere is processed at 180-250 ° C to a non-phase separated product, which then granulated and used in all classic thermoplastic processing processes can be.
