Die Rohrverbindung gemäß dem Stand der Technik (Fig. 1) besteht aus einem Rohrstück 1 mit einer zylindrischen Innenerweiterung 3 und aus einem Rohrstück 2 mit einer zylindrischen Außendurchmesserverringerung 4, so daß in diesem Bereich eine Art Muffenverbindung durch Überein­ ander- oder Ineinanderschieben der Rohrenden möglich ist. Die zylindrische Erweiterung 3 am Rohrstück 1 und die zylindrische Durchmesserverringerung 4 am Rohrstück 2 machen einen Durchmesser- bzw. Wanddickensprung von jeweils etwa der Hälfte der Wanddicke der Rohrstücke 1, 2 aus. Zwischen der zylindrischen Erweiterung 3 und der zylindrischen Durchmesserverringerung 4 ist eine Heiz­ wendel 9 angeordnet, die durch Erhitzen ein Verschmelzen der Rohrenden im Bereich der zylindrischen Erweiterung 3 und der zylindrischen Durchmesserverringerung 4 bewirkt. Im Bereich der Stoßflächen 5, 6 und 7, 8 sind keine Heizwendeln angeordnet, so daß in diesem Bereich ein Verschmelzen der Rohrenden nicht möglich ist.
