Abstract

Three methods are provided for gluing planar or sheet parts made of composite fibre materials. Regions of the parts 1, 2 to be glued together are provided with tongues 6, 7 which overlap after gluing. Firstly, the tongues may be wetted with adhesive 3 and the parts pushed together at an angle * small Greek alpha * such that no contact occurs between the faces of the tongues wetted with adhesive and the adhesive surface of the other part during displacement and one or both parts are then swivelled so that the angle is removed. Secondly, the panels may be pushed together in such a manner that a tongue of one part is laid over an opposite tongue of the other part and pressure is applied perpendicular to the plane of the panels. Thirdly, the tongues 6, 7 may be formed from the skin of a composite material and adhesive is applied both to the tongues and to the core region, or to folded down portions overlying the core region, in areas 17 which will abut the corresponding part. The tongues may include a double fold (5, Figure 1) so that they are displaced from the plane of the parts to be glued.

Description

The present invention relates to a method for Implementation of a glued connection level or flat parts, especially plates or sandwich Structures, e.g. B. from fiber composite materials.

Flat or curved flat sheets or sandwich Structures made of fiber composite materials often have to go through two-dimensional bonds firmly and permanently bonded together will. Especially in traffic engineering, for example in wagon and vehicle construction, more and more components are being made Fiber composite materials used together are glued, these adhesive connections both the changing weather conditions as well as strong ones mechanical loads caused by vibrations and Vibrations are exposed. Special requirements are connected to each other by gluing Areas of the individual parts.

The object of the present invention is to provide a method create with which a defined bonding level or  curved parts, e.g. B. from fiber composite materials, is achieved with each other, this adhesive joining despite mechanical and weather-related influences a high Has lifespan and is light and easy to use is accomplished.

This problem is solved with the in the claims 1 to 3 specified steps.

With the method according to the invention it is possible to simple, fast and inexpensive way to make bigger ones Structural surfaces such as curved or flat plates or also Sandwich structures defined to stick together, with the two tongues together parts to be pushed together at an angle be, e.g. B. similar to two folded hands, and the both parts (or one of the parts) only after the completely sliding into the final position be pivoted in which the two parts essentially come to lie in one plane, so that with glue wetted surfaces touch each other.

In the following the invention with reference to the drawing explained in the advantageous embodiments Implementation of the method according to the invention shown are.

In the figures, in which the same parts are provided with the same reference numerals, 1 denotes a first flat part made of a fiber composite material, which is to be glued to a second flat part 2 , also made of fiber composite material, with a defined holding force. According to the invention, the end regions of the two parts 1 and 2 are each provided with tongues 6 , 7 , the sides of which come into contact with the other part after the assembly, and the surfaces 3 , 4 on which, after the assembly, the tongues 6 , 7 for Calm down, are wetted with an adhesive 3 , 4 .

So that the two parts 1 , 2 are arranged essentially after the bonding in the same plane, the tongues, as shown in FIG. 2, are advantageously each provided with a double bend, so that the tongues 6 , 7 are offset from one another, if they are glued together after the overlap.

FIGS. 3a and 3b show now the inventive method, with which it is possible, even large surfaces defined structure to stick together. The tongues 6 , 7 wetted with the adhesives and thus also the two parts 1 , 2 to be joined together are pushed into one another at an angle α and only pivoted after reaching the end position in such a way that the tongues of one part on the associated contact surface of the other Partly come to rest. If the free surfaces of the tongues 6 , 7, which are not provided with adhesive, and thus the joined parts 1 , 2 are now subjected to a transverse load, any contact pressure can be applied during the curing process. Due to the fact that the tongues 6 , 7 are not pushed onto the corresponding contact surfaces of the other part in the same plane, a uniform, unimpaired thickness of the adhesive layer is obtained.

The possibility of offset of the tongues 6 , 7 shown in FIG. 2 is particularly necessary when flat parts, in particular plates, of considerable thickness are to be glued together. The embodiment shown in FIG. 2 with the double bend is particularly advantageous if the rotation of the two parts relative to one another does not have any disadvantages for reasons of assembly. If, on the other hand, the rotation of the two parts is disadvantageous, the configuration of the tongues 6 and 7 shown in FIG. 4 can take place with a comb-like structure; slots 8 , 9 are then provided in the end regions of the two parts; Fig. 5 shows that here too, an offset 12 , 12 'between the individual tongues is created by a double bend, so that the two parts to be connected to one another remain essentially in the same plane, while the tongues of one end region of one of the parts alternately are bent upwards or downwards, so that the offset 12 , 12 'shown in Fig. 5 is formed.

FIGS. 6 and 7 now the bonding two sandwich show structures with considerable thickness so that end faces are formed which extend perpendicular to the formed tongues 6, 7. Such sandwich structures usually have a foam or honeycomb core 18 , which is covered on all sides or on the top and bottom of cover skins 14 . According to the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 6, webs 13 of the cover skin remaining when two tongues 6 of the first sandwich structure 1 are cut out are folded down in such a way that they cover the corresponding areas of the foam or honeycomb core 18 , with this core be glued. To glue parts 1 and 2 , these cover skin webs are additionally wetted with tongues 6 , 7 or their side walls with an adhesive layer 17 , which ensures a further connection between the two parts 1 and 2 . Such an adhesive bonding of the two parts 1 and 2 to one another leads to a particularly good interlocking of the two parts, whereby soft and tough adhesive can be used due to the large adhesive surface. This can also reduce tearing apart due to brittle fracture of the adhesive point in the event of a possible crash load.

With 16 and 7 'in Fig. 7, the contact surfaces of the structural part 2 wetted with adhesive are referred to, on which the associated surfaces of part 1 come to lie after the union.

The method according to the invention is particularly suitable for Connection of flat or flat parts, in particular Panels or sandwich structures made of fiber composite material, as they are increasingly used in traffic engineering be used.
