Der nachfolgend beschriebene Universal-Zirkel soll ein vollständiges gröfseres Reifszeug ersetzen. Die einzelnen Theile eines Reifszeuges sind in diesem Zirkel so vereinigt, dafs deren Benutzung auf einfache und bequeme Weise erfolgen kann. Fig. 1 zeigt den aus Reifsfeder, Patentbleistift und Nadelhalter combinirten Zirkel. Fig. 2 zeigt den Zirkel zerlegt. Fig. 3 zeigt den Zirkel so verstellt, dafs man gröfsere Kreise damit ziehen kann. Der Universal-Zirkel hat einen Träger, an dessen Mittelstück α sich' zwei Gelenkstücke b und c befinden, welche sich nach oben abbiegen lassen; das Mittelstück sowie die beiden Gelenkstücke besitzen je eine durchgehende Oeffnung d ef, in welche die Reifsfeder g, der Patentbleistift h und der Nadelhalter i gebracht und mittelst der Schrauben k I und m festgehalten werden können. Der in der mittleren Trägeröffnung befindliche Stift hat oben einen aufschraubbaren oder aufsteckbaren Griff 11. Die Reifsfeder ist mittelst Gelenkes ο nach innen abbiegbar und der Patentbleistifthalter ist unten an der Kapsel/ so beschaffen, dafs er an Stelle des Bleistiftes auch eine Nadel festzuhalten vermag. Man kann somit bei diesem Universal-Zirkel den Reifsfeder-, Patentbleistift- und Nadelhalter beliebig verstellen, verlängern und verkürzen; man kann die Reifsfeder nach Bedürfnifs abbiegen, den Bleistift durch eine zweite Nadel ersetzen und ist hiernach im Stande, das Instrument auf die verschiedenartigste Weise zu verwenden. Es lassen sich mit dem Zirkel die kleinsten und gröfsten einfachen Kreise mit Reifsfeder oder mit Bleistift, sowie auch Doppelkreise mit Reifsfeder und Bleistift ziehen. Man kann denselben als Mefszirkel verwenden und kann auch die einzelnen Theile, wenn dieselben aus dem Träger herausgenommen werden, als Handfeder, als Patentbleistift und als Punktirnadel gebrauchen.The universal compass described below is intended to replace a completely larger set of tires.
