The piezoelectric elements (14,16) are excited to output ultrasound energy. The device also has an arrangement for electrically testing the ultrasound energy reflected from a body (12) inserted in the bladder (10) from an ultrasound reflecting material to the piezoelectric elements (14,16). The device also has an arrangement for determining the location of the body (12) inserted in the bladder (10) from the cycle time of the reflected ultrasound energy. The degree of fullness of the bladder (10) is determined from the location of the body (12).

Description

The invention relates to a device for determining the level of the human bladder.

The urinary incontinence, i.e. the inability to the bladder steering is a common and extremely annoying task suffering; the estimate of each in the Bla The amount of urine present is for the nursing ar of great importance.

From DE 35 26 164 A1 it is known to fill the human bladder by evaluating the signals of an or ultrasound generator attached in the bladder wall determine. Similarly, DE 39 32 718 A1 suggested two ultrasonic sensors at a distance to attach each other to the bladder wall, the Determine distance and so the filling level of the bubble too determine.

The subject of US 4,852,578 and US 4,926,871 are Devices in which the degree of filling of the bladder through an evaluation of the ultra taken from the bladder sound image is determined.

The former devices set an operative Intervention ahead to the reference body or the Bla to fix senwand, the latter devices do not allow any even with high computational effort reliable statement about the degree of filling of the bladder.

The invention has for its object a Vorrich device for reliably determining the fill level of the human bladder using reference body pern to create, in which an operative intervention to Arranging the reference body is not necessary.

Die Unteransprüche geben vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen dieser Vorrichtungen an.According to the invention, this task is characterized by the Drawing part of claim 1 and claim 2 specified features solved. Give the subclaims advantageous embodiments of these devices.

Dabei zeigt: The invention is described below with reference to a drawing explained. It shows:

Fig. 1 eine schematische Darstellung der Harnbla se, der in diese eingebrachten Körper sowie der auf die Bauchdecke aufgebrachten piezoe lektrischen Elemente in einer Seitenansicht, und Fig. 1 is a schematic representation of the urinary bladder se, the body introduced into this and the piezoe lectric elements applied to the abdominal wall in a side view, and

Fig. 2 is an illustration of a preferred embodiment of the first body.

To determine the level of the bladder, a first body 12 , the density of which is less than 1 g / cm³ and which consists of an ultrasound reflecting material, is inserted into the bladder via a urethral catheter (not shown).

Two piezoelectric elements 14 , 16 are applied at different heights to the bladder 10 on the abdominal wall and electrically connected. The two piezoelectric elements 14 , 16 are electrically excited to emit ultrasonic energy. The ultrasound energy reflected from the body by 12 onto the piezoelectric elements is electrically queried, the transit times of the ultrasound energy from the piezoelectric elements 14 , 16 towards and back from the body 12 are detected. From the transit times of the reflected ultrasound energy, the location of the body introduced into the bladder and floating due to its low density body 12 are determined by methods known from the DF technology.

From the location of the body 12 , ie its height relative to the urinary bladder outlet, the filling of the urinary bladder can be calculated.

In this, the subject of claim 1 forming the device is assumed that the location of the Bla senausgangs is known. However, if this location is not known or changes due to the filling level of the blister, the position of the body or other influences, a second body must be inserted into the bladder, the density of which is greater than 1 g / cm³. This body will therefore always be at the lowest point of the bladder 10 . When determining the location of this second body 20 , the filling level of the bladder is determined from the relative spatial relationship of the two bodies 12 , 20 to one another.

It is understood that when using only two piezoelectric elements, the location of the body can only be determined in the plane spanned by the two piezoelectric elements and the body 12 , 20 , the location of which is determined in each case. This will be sufficient in many applications, but when using three piezoelectric elements, the locations of the bodies 12 , 20 can also be determined precisely in a three-dimensional system.

The second body 20 can be trapped in a cage-like network, so that a closure of the urinary outlet is prevented by this body 20 located on the bottom of the bladder. This cage-like braid can be designed in such a way that it fits tightly against the inner wall of the catheter during insertion and is only stretched when the bladder is reached.

In the embodiment of the first body 12 shown in FIG. 2 by means of three elements 12 a, 12 b, 12 c which are connected to one another via spacers 12 d, the latter will lie against the ceiling of the bladder. This allows the position of the ceiling of the bubble in the room to be determined relative to the bubble outlet. This allows a particularly precise determination of the respective fill level.

The further proposed formation of the bodies 12 , 20 from a magnetic material has the purpose of facilitating the - possibly necessary - trapping of the bodies 12 , 20 for their removal by means of a urethral catheter using a magnetizable catcher.
