Abstract

Gases or liquids are filtered by a filter element in the form of inner and outer perforated cylindrical jackets (3, 4), between which is folded filter material (5) in the form of a ring. Nachteilig an dieser Ausführung ist ins­ besondere, daß für jede Größe, Durchmesser und axiale Länge, des Filterelements ein hinsichtlich der Abmessungen angepaßter Zuschnitt aus perforiertem Flachmaterial benötigt wird. Außerdem muß ein Absatz im Bereich der Überlappung der axialen Kanten des Zuschnitts angeformt werden, damit sich eine glatte, zylindrische Innen­ fläche des Außenmantels ergibt.In a known filter element of this type (US Pat.
