Abstract

The holder for dental floss is made of plastics and is hoop-shaped and has an overall length of 105 mm including the finger knob. The body of the holder has a diameter of 3 mm and the ends (A,B) are formed in a ball shape of diameter 5 mm which have from outside to inside a 2 mm slot. The distance from the inner edge of one slot to that of the other is 86 mm. A thread of conventional dental floss has loops at either ends of it and an overall length of approximately 82 mm. The loops are fed into the slots in the ends of the holder and due to the length of the floss being shorter than the distance between the ends of the holder the floss is held under tension.
