Bei den bekannten Bilderrahmen dieser Art werden Überzüge aus Kunststoff, Leder o. dgl. entsprechend der rechteckigen Rahmenform aus einer entsprechend größeren Lederfläche ausgestanzt oder ausgeschnitten und dann der so nachgebildete Rahmen als Ganzes auf den zusammengesetzten Bilderrahmen aufgeklebt. Die beim Ausstanzen oder Ausschneiden entstehenden Abfälle dienen dabei als Ausgangsmaterial für einen entsprechend kleineren Überzug. Der Nachteil der bekannten Ausbildung liegt darin, daß ein beulfreies und sauberes) ästhetisch einwandfreies Aufkleben des Überzuges auf den Grundrahmen praktisch nur bei Rahmen mit sehr flachen Rahmenleisten möglich ist.
