Am anderen Ende der Hülse 1 sind verschiedene Ausarbeitungen 9 vorgesehen. An der hinteren Wand der Ausarbeitungen 9 sind durch die Schrauben 10 verstellbare Platten 11 angeordnet, welche die Kugeln 12 nach innen pressen. Das Herausfallen der Kugeln wird durch gekrümmte Platten 13 verhindert, durch deren Ausschnitte 14 die Kugeln hindurchragen. Die Ausarbeitungen 9 sind an der Stirnseite durch die Scheiben 15 abgeschlossen, so daß die Kugeln 12 sich in einem allseitig geschlossenen Raum befinden. Zur Handhabung der Vorrichtung dienen seitlich an der Hülse 1 angebrachte Handgriffe 16. Der abzudrehende Ruderschaft ist von α bis b 4,$ bis 8,0 m lang und hat einen Durchmesser von 0,2 bis 0,3 m. Der gekröpfte Teil b c des Schaftes ist etwa 2 m lang, verläuft oval und endet in einen schweren Flansch 17, welcher am Ruder angeschraubt wird. An diesen Flansch 17 ist ein besonderes Stück 18 angegossen, um das Einspannen zwischen den Spitzen der Drehbank 20 zu ermöglichen. Dieses Stück 18 wird nach Fertigstellung des Schaftes durch Abarbeiten entfernt. Zum Ausgleich des großen und einseitig wirkenden Gewichtes des Flansches 17 und des ovalen Schaftes wird an der Planscheibe 19 der Drehbank 20 ein Gegengewicht 21 angeschraubt.
