Bekanntlich sind die mit Schreibpaste gefällten Patronen von Kugelschreiber nur mit einem geringen Vorrat ausgestattet, soweit sie lediglich aus einem Kapillarrohr bestehen, und sind infolgedessen verhältnismässig häufig auszuwechseln. Es gibt nun verschiedene Ausführungen von derartigen Patronen. In der Regel haben sich jedoch drei verschiedene Arten durchgesetzt, denen die Vereinigung eines Kapillarrohres mit einer Schreibspitze gemeinsam ist. In dieser Fassung soll sowohl an ihrem vorderen Ende in der zur Aufnahme der Patrone bestimmtentBohrung ein Gewinde vorgesehen sein, dass es ermöglicht, eine mit entsprechendem Gegengewinde versehene Patrone in der Fassung zu befestigen, nls auch soll im mittleren Teil der Bohrung der Fassung ein konischer Sitz vorgesehen sein, eo dass also gleichzeitig auch Patronen mit konischem Sitz in dieser Fassung befestigt werden können. Schliesslich soll gegebenenfalls noch die hintere Seite der Bohrung, die also nach dem Schaftinneren vorgesehen ist, mit einem Gewinde ausgestattet sein, so dass auch die dritte Ausführungsart von Patronen in diese Fassung eingebracht werden kann.
